How many stocks do you follow?

I do an initial scan with QuotesPlus to weed out the illiquid stuff. I do this about once every two weeks or so. Then I use TechnifilterPlus (a greatly underappreciated program) every night or morning to run filter reports to find the stocks I want to watch the next day. The reports I run...

is that liveroom profitable for trading or memberships?

There you go...should tell you most of what you need to know. I have yet to find such a site that will publish an honest, verifiable track record. Many excuses why they can't. g

How many stocks do you follow?

I scan about 2500 stocks every night and then follow between 3 and 30 during the day. I only trade some of these. g

    o no

Sadly, after many years at this I have found that people have other reasons to lie about their success as traders. Ego is the big one and it is very real. I can guarantee you that many of the claims you see on this and other forums are fabricated. Take all of it with a huge grain of salt. g

    The Stochastic Indicator

Maverik1, Skepticism is always called for in this business, but I must say that Jack has improved my e-mini trading...without a doubt. His writing style my be confusing and maybe his profit claims are overly optomistic, but he does have valuable information. It's helping me trade better...

I've got the Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns. I don't think it is completely useless...just mostly. g

    Long term short Microsoft

I wouldn't base a short trade on that article, but I did find it fascinating. There is no doubt the author is anti-MS, and there are some real wild rumors included, but a lot of the information is solid and undeniable. It is in everybody's interest to loosen MS's control of the industry. I...

    The Dawg Pound

Yep, I expected it to be a big day for the Hershey system. I wasn't able to watch the markets much today, so missed the nice trend. g

My lucky nickel tells me the same thing. I shorted CATT at the close...did I screw up? g

    Infomercial?

Fear is obviously a big seller, too. Our economy is going to collapse and the resulting stock market crash will make 1929 look like a walk in the park. Millions of people will die of starvation and chaos will rule the day. However, there is a way to avoid disaster and I'm willing to share...

    Random Walk Contest Week 1

One possibility might be to restrict possible stock picks to those that have a 50 day average volume of at least 250k. Just an idea. g

    Random Walk Contest Week 1

What stock universe are you using? Will you weed out really low cap/low volume stuff that would be hard to trade in reality? g

Who's actually making a living trading? PLEASE BE HONEST

Yes, it seemed like it would be really exciting, but once I got really serious it became quite dull. Now what I enjoy is system design. Watching the markets closely all day is mind-dumbing, but necessary. g

Of course they say that! But those books have been pretty well shown to be bunk. g

    The Stochastic Indicator

Ahh...that means there are many (how many?) failed signals that would have been taken and you would have had to get out of. Without knowing how those trades impacted overall results, you can't give much credence to the test results. I'd say, the only thing you could do is test on next bar's...

    The Stochastic Indicator

Then how do you test this in Wealth Lab? How do you treat those failed signals? Are you accounting for them? Just want to make sure, as it could make a huge difference. Right now test results look very good. g
