    Interest rate exotic options

So you only trade liquid markets but you're asking where to trade exotic options? As far as I know nadex is the only regulated exchange venue in the US for exotics (not counting CBOE's binaries). Everything else is OTC. Just how liquid will that be when markets become volatile?

Not before all trading moved off shores, or a major chunk of volume.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

The IRS can go after an ex-citizen for 10 years after they denounced their citizenship? WTF? Wouldn't that depend highly on the laws and opinions of the person's new country? It's one thing if you owed taxes for years prior to your having denounced your citizenship, but for the period after? On...

There are dozens of boutique futures brokers. They would have to fold almost instantly.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Wait, you're a US citizen looking to get dual citizenship with some other country, presumably one that you have no natural born claim to? I mean, that's great, but wow, is this what America has come to? Americans who are capitalists are looking to get the hell out of here? This now ranks up...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Good heaven. That Burnett really is a contemptible hack. I really don't understand why so many financial firms keep 50 flat screen TVs running with CNBC on in the background.

How does depleting liquidity from the market lend to more stability? How does it improve the rest of the country? Answer: it doesn't.

He has no opinion of his own that Obama doesn't already know about. Window dressing, his views are already discounted. The point is there will be nobody from the *private sector* in attendance who can voice opposition to this idiocy.

Oil, a good long term play for both bullish and bearish outcomes?

Exactly. We already have inflation by some people's calculation. And by "some people" I mean our own definition of inflation prior to Bush 2 taking office, as redefined by Clinton: http://www.shadowstats.com/

Oil, a good long term play for both bullish and bearish outcomes?

OK, well, I appreciate your input, but maybe read my entire post? You mention new technology that will drive down demand. What technology is that? There is a tremendous amount of infrastructure that exists and runs on oil. That's not going away any time soon, even if the number of people...

How low can the dollar go?

Wow, now I know we're in for a hellish era. People are panning for gold again. Wow, just wow! This anecdote takes the cake!

Oil, a good long term play for both bullish and bearish outcomes?

Here's what I'm pondering, tell me where I'm wrong. In the bearish scenario, the dollar continues to devalue in a severe way, even without internal inflation, oil stands to gain because as during the early 70's, OPEC nations refuse to continue to accept (from the entire world mind you) a...

How low can the dollar go?

Not only that, but look how volatile gold was at that time. It didn't appear to be a panacea if this chart is to be taken at face value: http://www.nowandfutures.com/weimar.html

How low can the dollar go?

This is not a helpful post. The OP is looking to hedge against US currency devaluation. Who cares what the other ETFs do? What is their correlation to the dollar? As for whether they are echangeable for actual underlying is also a misleading point. Can you exchange a share in SPY for underlying...

I'd rather not assume :) The problem is that the language is open ended, therefore they're free to do it whenever they want. I'll see if I can get clarification.

Anyone ever used Advanced Markets Forex??

Actually their CEO is prominently mentioned on their site, and if you google their company name, they show up in a lot of trade journals with some of the various platform vendors (boilerplate press releases of course). They also claim to hold the $20M minimum. Here is their page on "who...

Anyone ever used Advanced Markets Forex??

Never heard of them before, and their language is a bit wishy washy. Just wondering if anyone has traded through them? On the one hand they try to act like they work as a pure pass through to multiple bank liquidity providers, so a direct market access. On the other hand their fine print says...
