    On 10-case geometry and beyond

Always helpful :) Thanks, this clears up somethings. For bar98 BO,T1 I'm not sure how that can be if 2 previous bars are P2 P1, not P1 P1, volume is not between two previous bars, and is it even third bar of a trend? Maybe if counting lat as one bar, but not quite sure about lats.

Wouldn't bar #97 in the log (View attachment 184418) be P1, as it's accellerating (previous or assigned?) P1? If not, what could differentiate it from bars #92 P2 to #93 P1 (> P1)?

Not exactly sure how to reconcile the rules here yet. Shouldn't T2F be above T1 as well as below T2P?

What to understand??! The gore was nice for its time, but now we got CGI, so waaay better and smoother gore, especially when rendering innocent civillians and big time apocalyptic scenes! :p Would you like to know more? Sadly, kind of like 1984, Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451, three books...

    Best programming language for trading?

A non-problem if you instead avoid the anti-pattern of updating data in-place. In practice though, you update data until you need to avoid it, because the problem is rare and memory is cheap. No need for functional programming unless it provides additional benefits and one is comfortable with...

    Best programming language for trading?

Python is slow, though widely supported. I found golang perfect for my use cases. Depends how much calculations you need. One extreme is full use of GPU (I'm not there), the other is full blown charting package, where I found Ninjatrader useful. Understanding your true needs is half the battle.

Started to try out bands to see how they work. Limited to 2 bands and attempting to annotate in a simple way that for now makes some sense to my perception. I know I know I still miss most of the logic, so will need to work quite alot on iterative refinement:

How big account size should you start with and how to build it up?

Backtesting can provide an answer. Wether or not it is optimal for the future is unknown, but may be helpful to discover how your trading systems performed previously. Agree about starting with smallest account sizes, and only use regular account size when you're getting "comfortable" and proven...

    Lost all friends boss's money

It's more common than I'd like to think about. Having heard from earlier coworkers trading friend money turning out bad. It can get really bad, but most people cut their losses and move on, until the next bull peak hysteria that is. If you give away credentials, it's like giving out your pin...

198 trades made, no report received and NYSE:" Your case has been closed". What to do next?

Not joking, but wondering if contacting UBS the right way could yield results. I don't know the details so just throwing out ideas. My experience with brokers is that they are all terrible. Horrible, expensive interfaces, no accountability as per customer agreements and walled by incompetent...

198 trades made, no report received and NYSE:" Your case has been closed". What to do next?

I don't mean to be rude. I mean to be direct and constructive, which can be disconcerting and painful sometimes, but may help clearing things up. In order to clear up misunderstandings, you need to provide facts and present them in a way that is possible for the receiver (broker) to act upon...

198 trades made, no report received and NYSE:" Your case has been closed". What to do next?

What do you need the reporting for, and could someone else provide them or be held accountable for them? Don't think the exchange is answerable to you (no contract), but broker is. If you pay your exchange, then you're in customer relationship and can complain to regulators. But collect facts first.

Walmart trying "Order by text message service" for $50 a month! Pathetic and pointless!

Reminds me when banks heard about the internet and started raising fees to afford offering their own webinterface. Totally clueless, and run over by pure netbanks.

Machine learning -- classification or regression?

Regression is useful to do measurements that need to have some granularity, ie. measurement of slope and variance. Classification can be thought of as probability of something belonging to different classes, ie. binary outcomes. So generally, both categories can be useful. Even though they can...

Can we Ban the word "Newbie" Please

Or Dumdum, or ignorant fucktard, or, or.. Newbie is traditionally a derogatory term targeted at newcomers (usenet, gaming, etc.), however can also be understood as a term like "freshman" (or woman), and be used constructively like that. The observed usage of the word can be used to classify the...

    Home Made Software

I voted No: Obsolete software, the charts old/static;) and screen very busy. However, if your programming fills your needs and works as intended, then obviously it works for you and you should be proud. Problem is that you really need to do as you did: start design from scratch to fulfill...
