    Velocity Trader DAX Journal

A few questions: How much capital for one DAX is a safe play? Do you also trade the ESTOXX50? Is it also a good trading vehicle? How about the Bund, SMI and CAC? Is it possible to use an auto trading system for scalping?

    Velocity Trader DAX Journal

Wow! You have 629 RT per day. If you could get 1 tick per RT then you would get 7k a day! Is it really hard to make one tick for a scalper?

    eurex lunch break??

Do you feel it is easier to trade the Eurex before the US markets kick-off? Another observation is the Bund/bobl follow the ZN/ZB and the ESX/DAX follow the NQ/ES. But they could deviate from the US when they are closing.

    Cancel OK?

Did anyone experience cancelling a large amount of limited orders (>1000 or so)at CBOT or Eurex? Did it work instantly? [Assuming the current price is quite far away from your limited price.]

    Too many choices

I used to make a trading system with lots of indicators and I also looked at too many different stocks, futures at the same time. I also watched the TV and read the news. I was overloaded with data. Buy now I know this is a very bad practice. The theory "choice under conflict" said when...

Is "Buy bid, sell ask" practical?

I agree. But for a very short-term trader, the usual profits are a few ticks, this may cause some problems.

I tried using this method in a trading simulator and made quite a lot of winning trades. But in the real world, is it possible?

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development

True! However, it depends on the market. Sometimes you can enter the market without rush. But you need to be quick in other situations. Of course, you can decide taking the signals or not but this may lead to cherry pick, a very dangerous practice.

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development

Are your methods quite subjective? It is hard to determine which one is a bad data. And some spikes are huge but some are not. I know some professors of statistics did research in this topics. But I remember that they couldn't make a very great improvment of the accuracy of the forecasting (it...

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development

Doing the pre-processing (e.g. remove spikes, bad ticks) the data before applying any TA to it. It is quite time-consuming. I think you need some special tools don't you?

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development
