SP500 DOWN to 2500 and then to 2200

Fed, central banks, blah blah blah. Guys give it up already. The trend is up man. How much money needs to be left on the table for the Fed whiners to just buy. Do you want to look smart or do you want to make money?????

This company is still going, I quite like the analytics provided. I get a ton of value out of the website. I dont think they have funded anybody yet, but I think they are close. I would encourage your to sign up.

What is a good track record to you ... I'll start

Just wondering and absolutely not being combative, can you expand what you are concerned about? Do you think they will see your trades and piggyback? Do you think that will decrease your edge? Are you concerned about reverse engineering your strategy? Is your strategy so secretive that...

Do you have a reason for the paranoia? Or you just dont like the idea?

What is a good track record to you ... I'll start

Wow very much disagree with this. I use Interactive Brokers, so hooking my account up took all of 5 minutes and now everything is automatically updated, metrics are calculated in near real-time, it's really a great service. Plus it is freakin free, how are you going to complain about that? Now...

What is a good track record to you ... I'll start

This is interesting to see, but again these returns need to be put in context with the vol these funds are taking

What is a good track record to you ... I'll start

Unheard of? I dont know about that. Rare sure, but I think it is something to strive for. I see some trading jobs on Linkedin that basically say - Dont apply if you dont have a Sharpe fo 2+. That is either BS or high frequency trading.

What is a good track record to you ... I'll start

Good points regarding Sharpe. Like you said it is the industry standard (despite its flaws) so like it or not people will ask about it

What is a good track record to you ... I'll start

I am wondering what some of you guys view as a good track record? Not like Jim Simons good or anything like that, but a track record you would be impressed with or one that you aspire to have. Here are my thoughts: Length: Under 3 years is nonsense. I would at least want to see 3 years...

    Conceptually define your trading edge

It's a good question and a good exercise. I'll go: I have several strategies running, so in no particular order: Volatility premium - the fact that implied vol has been systematically higher than realized vol, basically getting paid to be the insurance company Time Series momentum -...

    Strategy development building blocks

Python / zipline and quantopian are the best backtesters out these days (IMO obviously). Unless you are doing HFT, where milliseconds matter (and lets be honest, your not) Python is plenty fast. The learning curve can be steep, but once you get it then zipline is extremely powerful.

    VX Futures vs VXXB

First of all, thank you for all your feedback here and always. It is very helpful. I share your concerns about ETNs. What happened to XIV was certainly eye opening. That being said I do feel more comfortable with something like VXXB considering it is long exposure and not leveraged. I...

    VX Futures vs VXXB

VXXB is transparent about how the ETN is priced, just first 2 futures contracts with a 30 day weighted maturity. Say I wanted to be short VXXB, and assume borrowing/shorting is no problem (as it currently is at IB) Are there any inherent advantages or disadvantages between shorting the ETN...
