Is there anybody here from France ?

The billionaire that was killed was Israeli. He was killed by his American male nurse who started a fire in the guy's penthouse apartment. The male nurse was convicted of the crime but showed obvious signs of mental illness. Nobody blames the Monaco police for the crime, just for how they...

Well it figures; five minutes after I sit down for diner it shoots north. Oh well. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote from TRADERguy: There is no way that 75% of Germany's economy exports to outside the Eurozone. I don't know what the figure is, but it's much less than this. Also, only 10.3% of German exports go to the...

For the Europeans, the higher Euro takes most of the pain out of rising oil prices. Also the Euro rise really only has a negative effect on their exporters, which is not the dominant sector of the economy like it is in Japan. Happy Thanksgiving everybody. :) TRADERguy

The Swissy seemed to lead that last run, don't really have a clue as to why though.

Thanksgiving last year, the Euro opened at 1.1775 which was the low, rose to 1.1948 and closed at 1.1932. I only have daily data back that far and I wasn't trading on turkey day last year so I don't know what happened that day. Cheers, TRADERguy

I went short for five pips gain but it was too stressful. I kept picturing the price shooting north through 1.31. :D Cheers, TRADERguy

I listened closely to most of that interview, but I didn't think the justification for a pullback in the EUR/USD worked. I don't look at stochastics any more but its hard to say that the Euro is overbought looking at a daily chart. Furthermore, anyone that wasn't convinced that the Euro would...

I really haven't seen a good reaction to European numbers for a while. I think the best thing is to expect either no reaction or buying the EUR after the releases (just because it's safe to do so because the numbers are already out). Just in case the markets pay attention, remember that the...

Since this came out last night, I'm guessing not :-). But even if it was coming out tonight, the Euro rise has always been a USD weakness story. Lately, the market has been focusing on the twin deficits so USD positive #s don't even have the expected effect. Trade tonight seems to be...

I saw this on a calendar too, but it can't be much of a holiday if their stock exchange is open. I'm still long the Euro; I don't think anyone is going to ever accuse me of having good entries. Cheers, TRADERguy:) :)

A currency analyst was on Bloomberg TV talking about S. Korean intervention that will drive the USD/JPY a little higher. Apparently yesterday the Government called on the Central bank to be more aggressive. First I've heard of it and I have zero knowledge of S. korean currency policy.
