    @Def: IB, Excel, Conditional Orders

    Thanks for your reply. In my test I was using ADD not MOD. ADD does not use a timing routine.

    @Def: IB, Excel, Conditional Orders

    I tried out the conditional ordering in Excel today (using the demo). I also got 10 orders generated when the ADD function was triggered by a TRUE statement. It is pretty impressive to run the spreadsheet, everything looks okay and then check TWS and see 10 market orders for 1000 shares each...

    Basic Questions about IB

    I think the confusion here is that IB will not accept opening only orders (i.e., if the order is not filled at the open price it is cancelled). No big deal if you are willing to cancel the unfilled orders yourself.

    TWS - Excel - Integration (no, no again!)

    First you need to establish your link. After you put in your user name into the Excel file you need to save the file, close the file and then reopen it. The Excel file should ask if you want to run macros (yes) and then if you want to establish link (yes). The instructions for using the DDE...

    Basic Questions about IB

    All brokers pay the data fees to the exchanges, most absorb the cost with higher commissions. I was just pointing out that this is one way IB lowers cost and is able to offer the best commissions available. If a customer does not plan to trade at least once every month, though, a broker with...

    Basic Questions about IB

    IB also keeps the interest on the first $10,000 in the account and they charge for data. Still the best deal available.

    IB Charging quote fees now?

    I posted my LLC/professional data fee question on the traderstatus.com discussion board. Here are the links: http://traderstatus.com/board/messages/10/78.html?1011656377#POST512 http://traderstatus.com/board/messages/10/78.html?1011656377#POST513

    IB Charging quote fees now?

    I was wondering if IB was charging professional data fees for accounts held by trusts. Trusts are not natural people and by IB's interpertation of the exchange rules, they should be charged the professional rate for data fees. Does anyone know (like Def)?

    IB Charging quote fees now?

    Unfortunately, IB is the only broker with commisions low enough for 100 share lots to implement the trading strategies that I use. I am learning some of the techniques from the Bright course but most of them can only be done at a retail level with a lot of capital and IB type of commisions...

    IB Charging quote fees now?

    I clearly explained to IB that I was a non-professional and listed the reasons for that designation. I even gave IB reference to NYSE forms that I would sign attesting to the fact that I was a non-professional. IB has taken the position that if the account is not in the name of a natural person...

    IB Charging quote fees now?

    I have an LLC (all personal funds) with IB but currently don't generate enough profits to justify the NYSE pro data fees (and I trade mostly NYSE). I am attempting to open a new individual account but referencing the LLC EIN for the tax reporting. Currently I'm waiting confirmation from IB...
