I am one off at +1.1 at 786.90. I'll try to hold the 2nd contract as long as the VS is green. I felt like I had too much risk with two contracts using these wide of stops - about 4.3% account risk. One contract cuts that in half.

I need to work on a re-entry strategy for days like today. Possibly using the R40 chart to take volatility flips in the direction of the trend already established by the R120.

I missed this morning's short fun since I didn't hold the original short from yesterday. The R120 triggered long at 787.20. I was taking a nap, so bought in at 785.80.

I also watch a R40 chart with Volatility Stop set to 15, 5.

Here's the R120 chart I am using. I have tweaked the volatility stop to (15, 4). Ensign shows W=14, L=9, P=74.80 over a decidedly short backtest. I'll think about posting a P&L. Not sure about the ramifications of that. I can tell you my balance today is just North of $22,000.

Covered at 791.20 for +2.4.

Sold two at 793.60 on R120 VS flip.

Took off second contract at 794.20 for +1.

Took one off at +1.1 and moved stop to BE on 2nd contract. Just doesn't seem like a lot of juice in this market. Still having a problem adapting to the realities of trading on a longer time frame.

Did not take short yesterday PM since I only traded the AM. Fortunate in hindsight.

Not liking this market much today, but took triggered long off R120 at 793.30. Long two contracts. Stop is at 788.60.

Another problem I have is getting ahead in the morning and then not wanting to take any more risk that day. Mainly I don't want to feel like a moron by turning a winning day into a losing one. Obviously I miss a lot of opportunities this way. I do find, though, that I trade best the first two...

Glad I'm not alone with my exit problem. I think it comes from all the times I have seen a position go a little my way and I held for the bigger move only to get stopped out. Then I feel like a moron for not taking the point or whatever off the table. Thanks for the thoughts on multiple...

Have transferred enough funds into my IB account to start trading two lots. Any ideas managing multiple lots? I know plenty of traders that take one off at +1 and move their stop to breakeven on their runner. I'm not sure this is the best strategy. I seem to remember from "Trading Your Way to...

Just sold at 788 for +3.3. Just couldn't take the suspense. Going to have to work on this, but it's a confidence booster.

Have been taking my trades off the R120 in the past two days. Yesterday, sold at 786.20 and covered at 782.10. The stop was still short, but I wanted to take the 4.1 points off the table. Probably comes from a past of trading too short term. Got long on the volatility flip at 784.70. Still...

Battled back from an early morning deficit of -3.4 points to end the day at +2. Having problems just following the system and not second guessing things. Also having a problem being patient with the trades.

I am still trying to find if there are local traders in the greater Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Berthoud, and Longmont area of Northern Colorado that might want to get together from time to time to talk shop.
