Exactly. Since Social Security is a "pay-as-you-go" system, every dollar invested in stocks would have to be borrowed against the national debt in order to sustain the program. Therefore, the private stock account proposal is like borrowing money from a credit card in order to invest in the...

I understand this now, and I understood it then. My intention was and is to show the world that great things are possible when you set aside your own personal gain. Unfortunately, I have encountered much more complacency and conformity than I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I maintain my...

    Long Bond Reintroduction

The U.S. Treasury announced plans to discontinue use of the 30-year Treasury Bond in October of 2001. At that time, the move made sense for several reasons (some obvious, some not). During the low interest rate environment, the government should have been focused on arranging as much long...

I think many of you may be interested in the concept presented on this page. http://www.pactamerica.com/wageswap.htm Unfortunately, I have not had the time to provide a thorough explanation, but hopefully the basic principle makes sense. The determining factor involves the decline in...

National Debt or National Disaster? The national debt now amounts to over $7.8 trillion. A trillion is one of those numbers that is almost too large to comprehend, but the following conversion may help. One trillion dollars is enough money to make one million people millionaires...

Obviously the value of treasury securities owned by wealthy American bondholders exceeds this figure, but this statement was meant to reference middle class Americans.

Nature’s Lesson Some of my favorite childhood memories involve my experiences in the Boy Scouts of America. In fact, this is the time of year when our troop would head off to summer camp for a week filled with fun and adventure. While my knot tying skills are not what they used to be, I...

Some of you may remember me from the "NQ Trades" journal that I started during the summer of 2003. Anyway, I was recently trying to find something that I had written, and I decided that it might be a worthwhile endeavor to compile these journal entries into a PDF file. I figure that other...

Soldier does not believe in the War

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I was looking at the Army as a way to serve my country while simultaneously benefiting my trading skill set. Because one thing I have consistently struggled with is discipline under fire. I would go so far as to say that there is no other kind of discipline...

This and the fact that the tape was pointing up were the only things that kept me in Trade 2. I told myself that it at least had to come back to 1484.5. I should note that there really was no entry for Trade 2. I saw that the tape was pointing up and got in because I was afraid I'd miss out...

I think I know where you stand. I'm guessing that by your above post, you don't fall into the category of those "making consistent money every week daytrading." Also, I don't have to trade the way you think is best. It infuriates me that you have the audacity to continually lecture me. If...

I think now would have been the ideal entry for this trade. I really got hurt bad on this one. At 81X81.5 there were approximately 40 contracts offered when I placed my order. At least 30 traded, and I thought for sure mine were next. Consequently, I never exited and now regret it.
