***Citibank Internal MEMO......in their own words***

It is. When your dollars become worthless demand for gold will be sky high and the supply will not be large enough to fill the demand. Result? High price.

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

That's a valid point but there's no difference between 1 contract and 50 shares of SPY, aside from the fact that it takes a heck of a lot less money to get that 1 contract (50:1 leverage). But, from a charting standpoint, if you are successful trading 50 shares of SPY then you should be...

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

The recent market is exactly what I'm talking about and it's been shaaweet! Typically, I'd have to ride a 3 point correction. Nowadays, those corrections are 10-12 points. How can that NOT be good?

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

Dude, that's even better. Forget what I said earlier, just do the opposite of what you normally do. Ohhh....wait, what if the stop on the short gets hit? Operator, you really screwed him up now

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

Exactly my experience and that's why I don't use a physical stop and why I enter when other stops have been hit. If you are having this problem try this: mentally enter the market where your typical trigger would be and then place your buy order (assuming you're going long) where your stop...

Is the US Monetary system on the verge of collapse?

"...a longer-term examination of debt markets reminds us that, throughout human history, regular default is more the rule than the exception. And while sovereign defaults on external, foreign-currency debt are most common, Carmen Reinhart and Kenneth Rogoff demonstrated in a paper released...

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

I would agree the futures markets are the most efficient markets but you don't need to have inefficiencies to exploit in order to make money. You just have to understand the behavior of price. A more efficient market is much easier to trade because it behaves in a more predictable fashion...

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

Not true. Not even close to being true. You just have to have an edge. If you can trade SPY you can trade the ES

Why is our government bailing out the financial institutions?

Because the FED and the fiancial system -- i.e. JPM, C, GS -- are the SAME THING. They are NOT bailing out the financial system. They are bailing out THEMSELVES! If the financial system collapses the FED collapses. Why is the government not so willing to bail out the Auto's? Because the...

Can someone explain to me the purpose of a dividend?

If you buy a share of stock you become an "owner" of that company, along with every other person who holds the same stock. If a company is profitable they can do one of three things with the money. 1. Reinvest it in future projects with the hope of generating a high return on the result...

    2009 Budget defict: +$2 Trillion

This is exactly why the US wants to nationalize the pension plan system. SSA would be a permanent source for the US to unload its debt.

    (goog) what does this imply?

It means these are "yesterday's" stocks. QCOM was one of the many momo's back in the dot-com era. It never came close to its momo high and began trading more in-line with the fundamentals of the company. The momo era for AAPL, RIMM, GOOG, and all the other shit stock_trader follows is over...

Citigroup seeks "emergency cash" from U.S. Treasury

Ohhhh....I don't feel bad for Charlie. I feel bad for Maria B. Those "1000" -- funny how she always makes it a point to say she owns 1000, instead of she just owns -- shares she owns has gone from 50k to almost 0k. The poor girl!

Was this Fidelity Fund Manager Selling at the BOTTOM!

It is almost impossible for a fund manager to beat the market, or benchmark. Timing is only one of the problems fund managers face. Almost no fund manager can consistently beat the market.

Was this Fidelity Fund Manager Selling at the BOTTOM!

Ain't this the truth. Guaranteed buy, hold, and lose your ass strategy. The perfect recipe for the government to issue the option of surrendering your 401k into their hands so they can "manage" it for you. When things get bad enough people will beg for this and it is the perfect source for...
