Remember when a 6month CD paid 15.7% Interest.

Bought my first CD in the mid-80's at 10%. That was the day I knew I'd be a finance major. There's nothing like learning the time value of money as a kid. One of the first things I'll do when my kids get older is teach them about money and credit. Of course they will get the version they...

ST just comes on ET seeking attention. He was probably neglected as a child or was some sort of outcast in High School. If there is one thing he needs in his life right now, it's lots of attention, even if it's negative attention. I have a 6 year old who is probably the same as ST. He needs...

The End of the Financial World as We Know It: Michael Lewis

He's "long-term" man. We're not looking at the "big picture." LOL. Long-term loser.

    BAC-what a joke-

Just give BAC a call and they will adjust it for you. I ran into the same problem with Chase and I can move 100k per day in my personal account. If you have a business account you can wire even more but you'll still need to call them. These electronic limits probably stem from 9/11.

Simple S/R based intraday ES strategy -- comments?

Everything sounds pretty good except for this part: "Initial stop for all 3 contracts is 1.5 points from entry." When I started trading futures my stop was exactly 1.50 points away and the market was nowhere near as volatile as it is now. My stops got triggered over and over on profitable...

    America 'Disintegrates' in 2010

This is old news and since the US still has military superiority Russia ain't going nowhere near Alaska. Although, if civil war does kick in like the author suggests, then the US won't have the military power it has now. Bottom line, none of this stuff is going to happen.

Do CEOs lie to boost their stock????

The only thing this proves -- and I say this as a fan of Buffett -- is Buffett doesn't know much about the market beyond fundamentals. There are plenty of reasons for shorting a stock other than incompetent management.

Do CEOs lie to boost their stock????

Of course they do. General Electric used their financial division to shuffle paper around in and out of the commerical paper market to deliver their earnings numbers every quarter. Pretty funny how when the commercial paper market froze up GE missed. It's all one big accounting gimmick.

God bless IB, but you won't get rich with IB

If you can trade futures successfully it is absolutely pointless to trade them thru IB.

Does this law threaten the existence of every fund in the USA?

Absolutely untrue. In fact, business is going to be great for those who survive this. Money will always find a home and people with money need a place to put it. The industry will become more regulated and people will become more careful but time has a way of healing all wounds. The HF...

Does this law threaten the existence of every fund in the USA?

Merck covered up clinical trial data that indicated Vioxx raised the risk of heart related deaths and as a result the medication was approved and brought to the market where it caused numerous unneccessary deaths. Should all drug manufacturers be shut down? A number of years ago a Pharmacist...

    Profitable trader trade-log. After years.

Dude, you could solve world hunger and someone will criticize you for it. Just keep doing what you're doing and remember, the slower you go the faster you'll get there.

    Credir card debt --staggering

You are absolutely right. A number of years ago my wife developed cancer and even with insurance we were swamped with medical bills. When you pay medical bills it comes out of another area such as groceries, gas, clothing, etc.... We had to use CC's to balance our budget -- we had no choice...

    Credir card debt --staggering

Yes, life will throw you a curve ball and you have to be prepared for it but that doesn't mean you stop living and you stop running your life's business. If you pay less interest than you receive then it's a positive business proposition. And if something unfortunate does happen to you then...

Did you all take my advice and make that 191% return?

This is laughable. Do you think you're the only person who has picked a penny stock that has doubled or tripled in value? How have the rest of your penny stocks performed?

Reversion To the Mean (RTM) Intraday Strategies

I know. I've backtested it until I'm blue in the face and it loses money at every turn. Crazy huh. How do people defy science? Oh that's right, trading is not a science.

This Is What Caused The Crash ---

Yes, but that very leverage was created and encouraged by the government. Who allowed the investment banks to lever from 12:1 to 40:1? What boggles my mind is why the US government allows the Federal Reserve to sit back and destroy the currency, and thereby the country. Congress has the...
