Stop obsessing about the economy, you’re scaring the children”

Under estimating people's able to be creative is a big mistake as is refering to a recession as a crisis. Personally I don't think this is any worse than the early 80's and maybe not even that bad. It might get worse though. no one can say for sure. What I do know is tomorrow I have to go...

Stop obsessing about the economy, you’re scaring the children”

My grandfater was born in 1899. My dad 1923 and mom 1924. They made it through unscathed thankfully. My mom who is still alive and quite active gets very mad whenever she hears someone compare todays situation to the depression. She was there so I'll take her word for it.

Stop obsessing about the economy, you’re scaring the children”

I don't think you have a clue my son. In the depression there was no food stamps for that man to use. No unemployment or SSI either. Today society has a safety net. I'm not saying thats a bad thing either. But todays victims of this recession live like kings compared to those effected in...

Stop obsessing about the economy, you’re scaring the children”

True enough. The average person survived the depression pretty well though comparing todays probelms with the 30's is a bit disingenuous to put it mildly.

Stop obsessing about the economy, you’re scaring the children”

It must be very scary to be so young as to have no memory or experience of other such economic upheavals. I feel for you, but don't worry it'll be okay. Hell, it already is for the vast majority of the population.

The Sleazy Nepotism & Cronyism Is So Thick, You Can Cut It w/A Knife

His company has not been implicated in the crisis to the extent others have, and its quarterly report last week detailing robust earnings confirmed JPMorgan’s pre-eminence. Huh? JPM's earnings were lame.

    Do you tip?

Sorry bud, but if people expect 15-20% bonuses for just doing their job they should consider the financial industry not food service. Now where is that damn salad?

    Do you tip?

Sounds like servers should look into becoming strippers until the restaurant industry implements a sustainable business model. In any event not my problem. Now where the hell is the fucking salad I ordered 20 minutes ago?

Credit Bailout: Issuers Slashing Card Balances

I'm sorry but your comment suggests you are naive to the ways of the real world. As I said before, Corporations routinely settle debts as a way of cleaning up their balance sheets. There's no reason individuals shouldn't be encourage to do the same thing. As for how people live after being...

Credit Bailout: Issuers Slashing Card Balances

The concept of settling debt isn't new and businesses do it everyday so I don't understand why when an individual settles it's such a big deal or suggests depression. Actually getting out of debt is probably the single best stimulus for growth there is.

    A 70k bet that I can't make a 50% gain in 2009

FH, Just to give you a quick answer since Geez is prolly doing something fun and semi-legal about now. Geez is risking $200 per trade, based on his stop point, regardless of the amount of money invested in the trade itself. That is his money/risk management strategy. So whether he buys...
