large delay when trading against TMBR

personally, i wouldn't doubt the "delay" was just normal IB slowness every so often. I received a TMBR fill on KLAC that executed as fast as an ISLD order. just my 2 cents

    RealTick Brokers

what exactly do you mean by slippage? when are you placing the order to buy / sell? are you placing it before the stock gets there, or when the stock is at your price, by hitting with a market order? IB and Terranova, or JPR or whoever uses direct access should give you the same exact fill...

    Wanted: Custom-built computer

they used to say the rule of thumb was to skip a generation in buying a PC - so if you have a Pentium 3, wait for the successor of the Pentium 4 to get the most bang for your buck. Upgrading from an 800 Mhz to 1Ghz would do the equivalent of absolutely nothing.

    quickie on IB best

the market maker cannot lock the market - if he/she wants to sell at 24.95, they must take out your bid before posting low offer - no need for IB to do re-routing routines. Bottom line - if the market maker wants to sell at 24.95, why wouldn't he hit your bid? of course he/she will
