Media - this type of manipulation, - is the ,,least harmfull'' ?

A few hundred years ago someone said: "Enlightenment is man's leaving his self-caused immaturity. Immaturity is the incapacity to use one's intelligence without the guidance of another. Such immaturity is self-caused if it is not caused by lack of intelligence, but by lack of determination and...

    Evolving nature of markets

For me it was a case of slowly waking up, deprogramming, seeing things as they really are and replacing authority as truth with truth as authority.

A new machine can translate brain activity directly into written sentences

Twenty five years ago I read some predictions and remember laughing at the time that whatever the guy was smoking sure helps write some nice scify. It feels strange watching them came to pass one after another over the years.

Exit is more important than entries

To say the exit is more important than the entry is like saying the landing gear is more important than the wings. They are both important. The exit is more difficult to model because if it were as clear as the entry you would be continuously stopping and reversing.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

That is good risk management. Could you share some insight into how you determine the long/short bias? (fundamental, technical, gut feel ...)

DeadTrader, finding a system is like walking the line between sanity and insanity. The insanity lets you ask the right questions while the sanity lets you answer them.

What would you tell your 18 year old self about trading/investments?

While I've always bought and sold by the numbers, I found there is a place for gut. With the benefit of hindsight, I would tell my 18 year old self to never go against the gut when dealing with people. It reliably detects bs, deception and all kinds of danger.

    Strategy performances decline over time?

It's normal. It would be arrogant to believe no one else can find the juicy bits you are feasting on. In time, someone that tolerates more pain for less reward will come along to eat your lunch. Time to search for another morsel?

Poker player moving to trade/advise please

Think of trading as a cash game organized by Lou. Lou uses a marked deck and conjures chips out of thin air. If against all odds things still don't go his way, Lou will change the rules of the game. Your goal is to grab a piece of the other suckers stakes before Lou cleans them up. You probably...

When they find the real ET/aliens, is it going to be bullish or bearish for markets?

Who are these "they" that are supposed to find and announce. And why do you assume that finding is necessarily followed by announcing. The view from the top of the pyramid is always better than from the bottom. Here, knock yourself out http://siriusdisclosure.com/

Is Trading Itself a Bad Trade? I Analyzed the Industry- Prove Me Wrong

If someone exposed the true nature of the game, few would listen. Of the few who listened, fewer still would understand. Understanding does not mean believe. Of the handful who believed, most would not know what to do. Of those who knew, how many will actually do? And of the rare ones who have...

Gold A "Safe Haven" In This Market Decline?

This is what a poster claiming to be a Rothschild (likely an impostor, but a smart one) said in another forum a while back. "when one buys gold and silver, they are taking a breather from the financial rat race. their value in time is frozen. no gain and no loss. none. imagine someone owns...

Is Gold The Savior When The Markets Crash?

A WWII type event will likely render the northern hemisphere uninhabitable. If you are still alive after such an event, fresh water, food and a dependable tribe to help you ward off the raiders that just showed up at your door are more important than gold.

Why doesn't everybody just short VXX?

Great suggestion for monitoring hard to borrow names. I keep it simple with delta 1 bets on liquid names lately, so I don't look at options.
