i have lost a couple big trades because i went limit but market will 75% of the time give me a 25 cent slippage but it still works out better to go limit in my case.

range is a variable that calculates the average range of the last 10 days i don't know what x means but if it ever equels 1 then the system will buy tomorrow at the high of the day plus 20% of the average true range for the last 10 days at a stop price as opposed to a limit or market order

i think everyone is getting a little to complicated. there are to rules here. 1 either your money means to much to you and 2 your ego is to sensitive that you just don't want to lose. if either of those are true, your shouldn't be trading in the first place.

i think tradestation 2000i is very good for back testing but the key is to have good intraday historic data. the smaller the population of data, the bigger chance of over optimization.

there are several futures brokers who will let you trade with as little as $5,000 and you can trade as much as you want just so you stay within margin. some of those same brokers will let you trade $500.00 margin per emini.
