What do you think of this Fair Tax proposal?

Your Oregon example is difficult to understand. If people don't have to file sales tax returns, how does that prevent them from reporting net income, or encourage them to not report earned income? I report sales tax and net income, and the two have no relationship tax-wise.

What do you think of this Fair Tax proposal?

Enforcement will be a nightmare and evasion will be rampant. The analogy between witholding taxes and sales tax is best when used on a cash basis. Employers who pay cash, don't withold taxes, don't report those payments, and neither do the employees. So many cash basis merchants will be tempted...

What do you think of this Fair Tax proposal?

It may be a good idea in theory, but will be a disaster in practice. Some of the consumer economy will go unreported, people will pay cash, merchants will agree to make unbooked cash transactions, a great deal of tax will go uncollected. I would support a 25% flat tax across the board on...

Economic impact of possible attack on Iran

Nice. Take that to a publisher, or if you mean it as nonfiction, see a psychiatrist. The reason you have so few people is most Canuck men don't know where the hole is. Canada is but a footnote to The United States.

    4 down days

That's an interesting stat set. Have you tried examining other factors with the four down days, like the McClellan Oscillator, the VIX, TRIN, to see if any of these indicators have a reading consistent with the positive (or negative) outcomes for the 5th day? In fact, If you post the 91 dates...

    Laying on the Bullshit

Come on, Lay was the father of that company and there's no doubt (in my mind) that at the very least he set the tone and standards for the type of criminal enterprising and racketeering that occurred at Enron. He seems to be a greedy man with major moral and ethical defects. A Fastow just...

    Under God

There may be no punishment on the books, but there are plenty of ways that believers mete out punishment to athiests. I received a harangue from 3rd grade teacher for not saying the pledge of allegiance. He name was Susan Karp, known in the school as "crazy Sue". PS6 NYC 1970

    Abortion

Life beginning at conception is not quite an accurate description. The sperm and the egg prior to conception are both alive, and represent biological entities. The question is whether a legal individual exists at conception, the supreme court says no taking its cue from medicine, and whether...
