    Your Dream Trading Platform

I think it would be extremely difficult to create a platform to replace what the brokers or software vendors already supply. How would you fund the development, marketing and future support costs? Plus maintaining such a system would be a large ongoing effort due to constantly changing...

Trump trade tactics starting to work?

It shouldn't matter, unless one goes around demanding to see Obama's college transcript to prove that Obama deserved to be in Columbia University and Harvard Law School.

Trump trade tactics starting to work?

Trump has a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Not an MBA. And, one of his professors there stated that Trump was the worst student in his class.

Did no one think the price of taxi medallions was a bubble, a scam

A great story. Hard to believe that at its peak, medallions went for $1.3 million.

All that previous hype about GDP growth is nothing but worthless talk

What would the USA be like without immigrants since 1970? Well let's see. First no Google, Amazon, Ebay, Tesla, Space/X and a host of other new firms created by immigrants. Go to your nearest university and take a look at the students studying for advanced scientific and engineering degrees...

Did no one think the price of taxi medallions was a bubble, a scam

I don't see this as a scam. When medallions were going for $800K each, yellow cabs were immensely profitable. Then along came Uber, and disrupted the entire industry. At the time the banks/credit unions made the loans, it looked like reasonable risk. This could easily happen in other...

Seeking Advice to Configure Lenovo P-920

You have not mentioned why you need a new computer, or besides MultCharts, what you plan to run on it. Have you checked Task Manager's Performance tab to see how much CPU and memory you are currently using at peak times? If all you are running is MultiCharts, then no way is a Xeon processor or...

Nope. I meant 0.85 cents: Facts About Hydropower - Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company www.wvic.com/Content/Facts_About_Hydropower.cfm Modern hydro turbines can convert as much as 90% of the available energy into electricity. The best fossil fuel plants are only about 50% efficient. In the...

All that previous hype about GDP growth is nothing but worthless talk

The problem is on the Product part of Gross Domestic Product. Even though the economy is roaring, producing more will be difficult. The birth rate has fallen, immigration is down, and the only technology that promises productivity enhancements, robotics and driverless cars, will probably cost...

How Do Forcasters Never Get It Wrong? Call a 40% Chance

Even if the pundits gave exact percentages for all their predictions, most people still wouldn't truly grasp what the probability percentages mean. When Nate Silver forecast that Donald Trump only had a 29% chance of winning, the general public interpreted that as Nate saying Trump had no...

    Parasites

Probably not. In the U.S., hydropower is produced for an average of 0.85 cents per kilowatt-hour (kwh). So the power company is still probably making a profit selling Plattsburgh residents power at 4 cents per KWH.

Martha Stewart, who was worth more than one billion at the time, went to jail for an insider transaction that netted her only $227,000. When the rich are doing these kind of shady deals, I doubt that they think this is only 0.x% of my net worth.

    Quick ETF question

You have it backwards. SPY closes at 8PM, then reopens at 4AM. Surprisingly, for the heavily traded SPY, the Bid/Ask spread in the after hours sessions is usually only about 1 or 2 cents. But for other less traded ETFs, the spread can be quite wide.

Risky Crypto Bet Blows Up Dennis Gartman's Retirement Account

If you read the article what Gartman did was bet his retirement money on buying Riot BlockChain, a company that has zero to do with Crypto. All the company did was change its name from Bioptix hoping to fool some traders. And I guess it fooled Gartman.
