Dest's "Trade Against a Pro" Trading Challenge

I believe Dest was suggesting a big drop would cause a spike in vol which he could benefit from. Not necessarily a directional bet on a drop in the market.

    Was recently commiserating about AMZN...

If I could give advice to someone in their teens or 20s, I'd suggest they invest $100 (or affordable amount) into every popular IPO & hold for long-term. Some/many will be bust but the few big winners in 30-40 years could be so large the losers won't matter. This would be "take-a-chance" money...

Вasics of technical analysis for "dummies"

Looks like you think everyone, except you, is an idiot. You've used "idiot" 35 times since Oct. 13th. If mother Russia is a country of intelligent people, why are you on an AMERICAN website? Go find a Russian site to sell your superior knowledge.

Looking for capital partner / buying power

So if I'm reading this correctly, your strategy is good for 1%. The 8-14% is based upon the annual return of the S&P and not from your strategy? So if the S&P is down 8% next year, your return will be -7% ? Am I reading this correctly?

    Considering Trading Treasury Bonds Futures

Doing a little research on hedge funds (CTAs/managed futures) might get you a little invested for now while you're still a lawyer. Seeing how other successful traders trade might help if you're new to trading. I've been invested in multiple CTAs/managed futures for the past 15ish years with...

What should I do with this trade ?

Tom's suggestion to sell the 3025 Put for 33 moves the break-even to 3055 if the P expires worthless. Trader can continue to sell puts against the underwater short ES position.

What should I do with this trade ?

    He's referring to 10, 20 dollar ES losses. Not actual $$ losses. 10 dollars ES = $500

    Question about yahoo stock charts

The chart you're looking at is a line chart (1 min.) so the line is showing the "close" price. If you look at a bar or candle chart, you'll see the low on the chart is 51.40 as the low candle was a pinbar. So Yes, a limit order @ 51.50 would have been filled.

Well, if a $10 loss on a $1,000 account is a "huge risk" then you've got some serious trading issues to figure out. ***I'll exit this conversation now. Can't believe I need to make such statements. :)
