    Trader's Union

Guys do it all the time. Find a few traders, call any of the prop firms and they will give you rates on the combined totals for the day that the group of guys is doing. Is done all over the place, so I don't see how a union would help you. Unions ruin companies. If they don't ruin the...

    Trader's Union

Prop traders can get better rates by switching firms. There's no need for a union. If you're a profitable trader any firm will compete to get you. If you're an unprofitable trader then no one will want you. Plus, commissions compared to several years ago have dropped dramatically to adjust...

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Rates vary within a firm. Most prop firms don't have set rates for their traders. If you talk to guys within the same company who do the same volume, you'll probably get different rates. Most of the time rates are adjusted with volume, mostly after a trader asks for them. Some firms will...

Was Andover bought out last week?

Actually the rumor does have merit. Many senior member of the industry have confirmed it, and the fact that Andover won't comment is another indication. Why would they try to advertise by spreading a takeover rumor that promises a potential disaster for the traders that go there during the...

Was Andover bought out last week?

Do you know for a fact that he doesn't? He seems to think to know me, and read his statement, something someone from Andover would say.

Was Andover bought out last week?

Why didn't you just say so in the first place instead of bashing and being condensending. People would take you a little more seriously. And boy!! For a man who claims not to work for Andover anymore, you take things quite personally when Lynx or Andover is attacked. Almost as if you have...

    New Bull Market

Oh boy, euphoria in the markets, not a good thing. You don't seriously believe we're back to the bubble days? I agree that the bull may be back, but not like 99 - 00. Those days won't be back for decades.

Was Andover bought out last week?

That would be just the base rate. Then you have to add ECN's and Dot rates, plus all the equipment, software, and office costs. And it depends on the volume you're doing. Don't get the traders all excited, cause the regular trader is not getting those rates.

If you have money, what will you do?

It would be fun, but too much work, especially when I can be retired.

Was Andover bought out last week?

I agree with you, Lynx will find another clearing firm, but the transition is going to be a nightmare. Lynx owns none of the offices, lines, or computers, at least in NY, which means they will have to find space for all their traders. They will have to run new lines to the new clearing firm...

If you have money, what will you do?

I would focus more on long term trading.

How much is enough to start trading?

If you trade for a prop firm that'll give you 10+ to 1 leverage then that's enough money to trade and make enough to live on. If you trade retail, in this enviroment, it's not enough, cause 2 to 1 just won't get you the return you need.

Was Andover bought out last week?

The best case scenario for Andover traders is if Sunguard retains them. Then they won't face any type of problems. But since the rumor has Sungaurd wanting to discard the traders, here's what they may face: 1. The swith over to another firm could possibly create problems, since all the...

Was Andover bought out last week?

From a reliable source there is truth to the rumor. They told me that they are in the final stages of the agreement, and Sunguard wants to spin the day trading area out. Other then that, there's no more news. I will post it once I hear it. Maybe the New York or SD offices of Lynx can...

    series 7, 55, 63 exams

The hardest of the 3, in my opinion is the 55, cause of all the rules a regulations you have to remember, with all of there exceptions. The 7 is the next hardest, and the 63 is pretty simple. Anyone can pass these exams as long as they study for them. Each person has a different level of...
