    Swing traders at Prop firms?

Prop firms do have swing traders on board. In most cases the capital requirement is much higher. Also, if your volume is low, they may charge you for software and hardware costs.

    William Oneil - CANSLIM

CANSLIM works if you're willing to put the hard work in. It's not something that can be mastered with one hour of work. You have to be constantly scanning charts and fundamentals to narrow your list down. All this work has paid off in my ability to pick the proper point of breakout, cause...

You would think, right? Somehow it doesn't. There's just too much business right now for them.

what did you first learn, what are you using now

You hit the nail on the head with that statement. It's gotten ridiculous the last month. If you even try and use a market order to get in, you might as well sign your net worth over to the specialist.

I want to know how many traders out there use this system for their long-term trading? Are you successful at it, or you just don't get it? I've been playing around with it for some time, and have gotten good at selecting stocks, and finding the right pivot points. But, I've had trouble with...

    Trader's Union

But in order to get this group off the ground, it would need some serious funding. And somehow I believe that would be difficult in this enviroment.

    Trader's Union

NOW THIS IS A GOOD IDEA!!! This is the right way to go. If a new group were to be organized, there would have to be some sort of checks and balances put into place to make sure it sitcks to it's agenda, and doesn't roll into someone's pocket.

Not at all, you can have one setup for $500. If you do the setup by yourself, it may even be cheaper. Especially if the only purpose is to get the better insurance rate. But I would consult with someone. Insurance companies usually require 2 employees to be signed up to get the better...

what did you first learn, what are you using now

I started wtih FA, and as I got in, the bad news would start to come out. I then learned TA, and got good at it on a short term basis. Now I'm trying to completely figure out O'neil's CANSLIM that combines TA & FA. The only thing that has stopped be from being really profitable, is my...

What me and my partner did to get lower insurance was setup an LLC, and get the insurance through that as a small business. I believe in NJ, the rule for insurers is companies under 40 employees, get one rate, and companies over 40, get an adjusted rate based on the medical history of those...

    Anyone try TCNet yet?

Gotcha!!!! Did you try TCNET and not like it? Or is it worthwhile, just not for what you're trying to do?

    Anyone try TCNet yet?

I think that is what they are trying to do with TCNET. From the website, the look of TCNET is not that different from TC2000. Give it a try for 30 days, if you hate it, switch back to TC2000. That's what it looks like alot of guys here are going to be doing.

    Anyone try TCNet yet?

The discussion should be better on TCNET then here, no one hopefully has gripes against each other there. And you can join groups to talk to people who trade your style, which is nice. I signed up too, waiting for the CD.

It's not the firms it's the insurance companies we should strike against. But we don't have much of a choice here. They're all expenisve. And if we strike we're not big enough to make an impact. Plus we then have to go w/o insurance, and got forbid you end up in the hospital during the...

    Anyone try TCNet yet?

They do have real time data for the TC2000 package without switching over to TCNET. I tried it, didn't like it.

    Trader's Union

The point is, we don't have to strike. They're are plenty of firms out there that will give you lower rates if you're a hard working profitable trader. The higher rate shop will either have to close down, cause of an exodus of traders, or will eventually lower their rates to stay in business...

    Trader's Union

First of all, I didn't imply that I had a problem with the workers in the union. Most union workers are hard working individuals, who could use the union dues for their own needs. I have a problem with unions themselves. Unions tend not to understand the concept of business needs to make...
