Volume--- how to use it and WHY

Just a little. It's quite simple. Tick, Range, Volume, Time bar charts all show how price changes over time. The only difference is the determination of the time interval for each bar. They each show the highs and lows at the same price and in the same order. There is not much to choose...

this is ruining the credibility of ET

The broker review section is a joke. I don't see why it has pride of place on the homepage. Why do all the bad AMP trading reviews get deleted?

Volume--- how to use it and WHY

I'm not sure how useful that would be. The FX market consists of a network of market makers. If a big order for EURUSD comes into one market maker. That market maker will shift their quote and also pass off their exposure to other market makers. The initial order creates maybe ten times it's...

Volume--- how to use it and WHY

I think you will find it is - at least in FX it is. Tick volume in FX can be predicted using time of day and price. I've read that tick volume is very closely correlated to FX futures volume, in which case that is also largely a function of time and price. Now, I would agree that elapsed time...

who is still profitable in the forex?

The tax liability for any form of income doesn't depend on what other forms of income you have. Either it's taxable or it's not. However, HMRC does have a history of making illegal tax demands and spending huge sums defending them in the courts. So you do need very deep pockets if you are...

who is still profitable in the forex?

Not so. Profits on betting are not taxable. Full stop. The tax liability for betting profits was replaced by a levy paid by the bookmaker. For financial spread bets, the tax man gets 3% (I think) of all wins and losses. The bookmaker also has to pay corporation tax on his profits. Since most...

    Help! FX is a jerk!

And on FF you'd probably end up getting banned for your trouble. Besides, you've got enough work on your hands putting people straight around here! :D

    Three Laws in Trading

The OP should have written what he really meant because what he wrote was nonsense. Market prices are determined by the actions of the participants in that market. Their past actions are observable in the price history. The behaviour of market participants is consistent enough for predictions...

    Three Laws in Trading

You can't deny causality that's ridiculous. Everything that happens is influenced or caused by what came before. The present moment does not exist. Decisions can only be based on the past, and can only influence the future. If you believed law 1 why would you bother with decisions or actions...

    Trading EUR/JPY in US $

I had a look through that and couldn't find the answer. The quote currency of EURJPY is JPY so the P/L from any trade will be denominated in JPY. That must be converted to USD in your case. The exact rate you get when your P/L is converted in to USD depends on your broker and when they do...

    NFA compliance MT4?

It will be interesting to see how this develops since MT4 doesn't do FIFO. MT5 however will.

    Help! FX is a jerk!

I used to read FF a bit, but it just makes me cross. It's not so much the illiteracy but the innumeracy, and the institutionalised stupidity, that upsets me. As for knowledgeable members, I saw a few come and go. None that stayed and posted regularly. The FF site ethos encourages the less...

FXCM April contest winner ,China - 1703.93%

Since these are real money accounts, you would need 50 x $500 to fund them and 50 real identities to open them. All for a small chance of profit plus $25000 prize money? Doesn't seem likely. However, the prize money offered does encourage existing account holders to take more risk, which is...

    Proposed NFA Capital Requirement

Who said NFA wanted competition? Big brokers like FXCM are the ones that influence NFA policies. Capital requirements were deliberately set at a level that is only commercially viable for big bucketshops.

I ran it. It found 924 registry errors. I fixed the lot and my PC still works. It says it creates a system restore point, so I wasn't too worried. :)
