Grinding it out, day after day

I think P90X is a great program. But any program that has you exercising at a pretty high intensity for 45 minutes to an hour 5 days a week is going to get results if you stick with it. But it's repetitive, which gets a bit boring. And after 90 days you are done and have to do it again or...

Sorry, I missed your question earlier. Yes, they are all daytraders, trading stocks.

Try the 100 day burpee challenge. Me and some friends did it earlier this year and everyone saw great gains in strength and general fitness. The nature of it makes it as much of a mental challenge as a physical one. http://ezinearticles.com/?Try-the-100-Burpee-Challenge-If-You-Dare&id=4683578

Any Scenarios or sample of big loss day?

A lot of trading cliches apply here: - Hope is not a viable strategy - The market doesn't care where you entered - If your reason for entering the trade is no longer valid, exit

Both are an important part of my overall approach.

For the most part, neither. The only trades I do based purely on charts are my swing trades and some discretionary ones. Both of those strategies are small and contribute a negligible amount to my bottom line. I never trade on fundamentals.

Another really good week and the best three week run since May. Not particularly busy, but a few good trades and nothing too bad. +$28k for the week, traded 382,000 shares. Daily pl was +17, +2, -1, +4, +6. Within a whisker of 600k net on the year. It's encouraging that things have been...

I don't know what goes on with other traders at the firm, other than a few tidbits I hear now and then. I know I'm nowhere near the top earning guy. But I am in a private chat with a dozen or so guys at various firms. I've known them all several years and while no one is having a great year...

Grinding it out, day after day

Two really good weeks in a row. Expected some action this week with all the news. Seeing more decently tradeable moves in more and more stocks, even with a dropping vix. +33,000 on 472,000 shares traded. Daily pl was +7, 0, 0, +3, +23

I haven't heard anything from Echo regarding changing how they operate. They are a top notch firm and I'd recommend them to any serious trader.

Grinding it out, day after day

Yes, confidence in my strategy is a big part of it. If I leave positions unattended, I either have targets and stops in the market, or orders to exit at a pre-determined time. Over time I've gotten pretty good at not mucking up positions once I'm in them by overriding my rules. I don't do much...

Grinding it out, day after day

A few signs of hope this week. Good action in several stocks, seeing some juice here and there. There was actually enough activity to keep me at my desk a few hours some days this week. +$23k on 438k shares. Daily pl was +6, +4, -1, +3, +11 Maybe this is an inkling of some good...

Grinding it out, day after day

More of the same. +$2300 for the week, about 300,000 shares traded. Every day was up or down small. Ended an 11 day losing streak with opening orders, easily the longest ever. Employed all my regular strategies at one point or another over the week, but none of them were very active and...

Played in the NFL, or were on team rosters? I think those two numbers would be quite different.

NYSE Breaks Trades of S&P 500 ETF Showing 9.6% Plunge

It's another example of how broken the markets are. That was a real print, with a real, published imbalance. Real traders risked their capital to provide liquidity to offset the imbalance. The print went off, they were rewarded for taking the risk to stick their bids in there. Then comes...

Grinding it out, day after day

Another really blah week until today when I finally, FINALLY, had a good day. +15k today, best day in over 3 months. Sad thing is, it only takes me back to where I was the middle of last week. Oh well, maybe there's some hope yet. Today was some options expiration related stuff, a good...

Style: I need a winter jacket to rule all winter jackets!

You call Toronto arctic? HA! That's hilarious. I spent 8 winters in Yellowknife and had one of those Canada Goose parkas. Too hot unless it's more than -20.

Grinding it out, day after day

My fill rate is pretty low, a few percent. DLR and other related stocks were down on EQIX news. I got hit in it and a few others. That one in particular was tough to catch unless you were familiar with the company or the industry. I calculate my own volatility numbers for individual stocks.
