Is the sms alert service also available for Europe? I couldn't find anything about the alert function in the online User Guide. Thanks.

    interbank rate for weekend

The interbank market is not active during the weekend. You can trade at Oanda during the weekend, but the rate hardly moves. It's only useful when you want to adjust your positions over the weekend because you lack the time during the week.

    Question about DSL speed options

768k is almost always more than enough. I don't know the programs you use, but it's very unlikely to generate more than 96 KB/s other than when downloading files.

Are you ready for a new LOW in Euro below 1.18?

I don't think so. Look at the weekly and dayly charts. It's of course easier in hindsight ;)

    Roll Over

You pay or gain interest depending on the interest rates for the pair you are holding. At some brokers you incur an additional fee for handling the rollover. Most brokers rollover your position at 4PM ET. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=forex+rollover

Gaining an edge with Trailing Stops!

The trailing stop will also cause some TP not getting hit, but stopped out at break even for example. There goes your edge. :)

    OANDA vs IB

Remiraz speaks like he trades at Oanda, is my question really that weird? Maybe he deposited some funds to try them out. Oanda spreads this morning, look at EUR/USD :D

    OANDA vs IB

Giving out specific details about business operations is probably considered competition sensitive information and thus not discussed freely. Although these details are not discussed, Oanda representatives have multiple times stated they hedge net exposure over a certain threshold. You should...

    OANDA vs IB

The Oanda limit orders trigger on both sides of the market. Your limit order will be executed as soon as the market reaches the specified level. I think this is what you mean by buy and sell stop entry orders. The trailing stop is not going to be implemented as far as I can see - at least not...

    OANDA vs IB

Nothing in life is for sure, you've got to trust people at some point. Oanda offers a great deal of transparancy, responds to all inquiries with helpful replies and resolves matters fairly. Their overall integrity is not matched by many. Also, net exposure is only hedged over a certain...

    OANDA vs IB

I believe the candle is fixed on the average price. You can show the bid, ask and/or average price on your chart to accommodate for orders triggering off the bid/ask price. If you want to look back in history to see if for example your limit order should have been triggered while it did not, you...

GFT Pull out of United Kingdom!

I tried to open an account at GFT some time back, they couldn't complete the application due to some legal restriction. Although they didn't elaborate on what exactly, this could have been the problem. I hope this does not effect all fx brokers, Oanda doesn't have an office in the Netherlands...

    IB - smaller increments

I mean the rate does not exactly have to hit your limit pipette to be executed. That is what you claimed right? I don't understand how you can make the claim pipettes cost you money, it works both ways. Do you still believe pipettes cost you money? Reuters interbank is not the official spot...

    IB - smaller increments

It works both ways, if you have a long stop at 1.20196 and the market moves from 1.20198 to 1.20188, your stop is executed at 1.20196. So you save anywhere from 0.1 to 0.9 pip. In the same way, you can lose 0.1 to 0.9 pip on take profit orders. It cancels each other out. Your first example...
