lol, so you pay about $ 30 per round turn in futures? I still don't understand the spread part, but can you back up you accusations about Oanda with some kind of proof? How do you know they apply the policy you described above?

Yes, I noticed, he just ignores what I write. I guess the topicstarter has a good idea now about the differences between spot and futures.

I don't know what size you trade, but you are probably the one that DOES NOT benefit from the 'bigger size, lower commissions' thing. Everybody equal, very low, commissions/spread is fairer in my opinion. And again, brokers who hedge their aggregate positions only profit from the spread...

You mean futures have 1 pip spread on both side, so 2 pip spread per round turn? Or did I not interpret that correctly? The 1,5 pip spread at Oanda is per round turn, so if you open and close an position in EUR/USD, you are $15 down per 100k size. I didn't really understand the second part...

The rate bounced off the 50% fibo [May - Dec] yesterday. The run up was an extension of this bounce I think. The downward action is probably related to sentiment after the numbers today. Anyway, I didn't make a single pip out of this :)

Please, explain why, this makes NO sense at all. HONEST retail forex market makers only have to hedge their aggregate positions. This means, as they grow larger and larger, they gain more volume and can match more and more volume in the internal local market. Thus, making a lot of spread by...

    Anybody trading currencies?

I mean, spot has only the spread. For futures there are also commissions. So $15 per lot in the spot market, how much do you pay for futures per round turn? btw, how high is leverage for futures?

I totally agree. Bashing the spot market seems like a fashion trend around here. The spot market offers many advantages over futures. Maybe its not a 'real' market like you experienced in stocks or futures, but with a good and honest broker, the spot market rocks. Unlimited volume/liquidity...

I also bought, but got stopped out. I have an entry order in for 3100 to buy now. Also, It looks like Oanda lowered the spread for Eur/USD, it's at 1.5 pip now. Don't know if it will remain: http://fxtrade.oanda.com/resources/spreadstats/spreadsminmax.shtml

Bush noted that in addition to the budget deficit, America suffers from a huge trade deficit. "That's easy to resolve," Bush said. "People can buy more United States products if they're worried about the trade deficit." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=333623 -- heh :)

Chinook, maybe you already told us, but maybe I missed it: Why will you send your orders generated by TradeStation to IB's platform? TradeStation has a build in broker. Maybe commissions, or are you just happy with IB's execution/service? Thanks.
