Okay, closed my EUR/GBP short at 0.7300, 12 pip gain. Still long AUD/USD (gain) and short USD/JPY (loss). Account is up $605.10 to date. Thought I would also post some of my current calendar spreads in Lean Hogs and Feeders that I have going. I put these on every few months to gain...

Forex Trading by a Futures Pit Trader

Currently am short USD/JPY, short EUR, and long AUD. Also, I made up for the earlier loss, and now have a $50 profit on the account for the first day. Glad to see I didn't take a loss!

Forex Trading by a Futures Pit Trader

I am a pit trader at the CME, mainly trade Lean Hogs and sometimes do some cattle spreads. With that I usually don't hold anything overnight, but I might sometimes most some trades here if I am doing them electronically that day. Was right on with the EUR trade, never made it past 1.4509...

Dan Sheridan's Mentor Training for Options Traders

I went to one of his conferences at the CBOE. He's not a bad guy, very characteristic in a pretty funny way. He's a big income trader guy, who will mostly teach you condors and butterflies, and what he calls the "art" of adjusting. Not sure if the $6k is worth it for you. Either way...

Which is how people with $500 accounts thinking they can hit it big with 200:1 leverage fail. What kind of leverage do you use? I'm currently at 26% of my available margin, staying under 50 at all times.

I am currently short the dollar, with a hedge going long against EUR (small, however). I am long GBP and JPY, and they're working in my favor.

You're right. My son does scalping on the Merc, which I assume is more transparent and flowing than doing it OTC. I might have to try FX Futures sometime. Just closed a EUR/JPY trade for a profit.

New positions I put on earlier. Might take off the USD/JPY once it is greater than the roll.

I got out of the EUR at a 2 pip loss since there was a cross confirmed by MACD (good thing, its now at 44.93/95) Out of EUR/JPY at 164.40 (stopped out) Stopped out on USD/CHF as well. Now have a $600 loss, trying to make it up.

True, I had the USD/JPY stops close because I wasn't too keen on them (already got stopped on on it 114.10). I adjusted the other stop and the EUR/USD stops. All I have on now is Short 100,000 EUR 1.4413 (even), Long EUR/JPY at 164.53 (working in my favor), Short 100 USD/JPY at 114.18 (moving...

Put on some trades overnight, will try to monitor as I drift to bed while watching some TV. Basically long USD/JPY and USD/CHF and short EUR. Overall long the dollar overnight.

Forex Trading by a Futures Pit Trader

As the pits are starting to die down, I'm beginning to shift some (most) of my trading to screen-based and trade that. I'm still trading Hogs, but got into the Forex game now that my son has taught me it (he trades in the Eurodollar pit and CBOT Treasury pits exclusively). I'm going to try...

    life in the pits/ floor

It depends who you talk to and what they trade. I trade hogs in the pits, and I can lose $20,000 to making $20,000 in a day. The most I've lost in a day was about $18,000 and the best day was about $37,700 (actually just recently last month). I have heard stories of people working in the S&P pit...

Office space in Chicago-- Anyone rent?

I am a floor trader on the CME and used to have an office upstairs in the South Tower for trade planning, reconciling, and reviewing. I also did some electronic trading because Lean Hogs only trade from 9am to 1pm downstairs, so I traded ES, NQ, and YM upstairs from 1 to 3. It wasn't bad...

I got screwed! My dividend got taken away!

Because the dividend would be included in their profit. If the amount of the dividend plus the current stock price is greater than the stock price, your call will be automatically assigned, and on the other side, automatically exercised. It's an OCC rule, I believe.
