The rule only applies to margin accounts. However, if you aren't using a margin account you have a 3-day settlement period after you buy stock. Options settlement is 1 day, so it works better in a cash account

Switch to a cash account. Overnight settlement for options and no PDT. 3 day settlement on stock though

If 20 points is getting you stopped out, why not just try 40 points and trade half your size?

True. I meant it terms of the potential move though. It's a lot more likely for a $0.37 stock to double than it is for a $50 stock to. Especially since the 0.37 is a company that just declared bankruptcy and a lot of unexpected things can happen.

You'd be taking on a huge, unknown amount of risk to make, at most, 0.37.

Oanda will give you more flexibility in terms of position sizing since you can do whatever size you want. With TOS the minimum is 10,000. So it depends on your account size and how big of positions you want. Oanda has 50:1 and TOS has 100:1 leverage. Also consider trading multiple pairs...

About 1242? When time did you buy and what time did you sell? Because the last time SSO was at 56.60 was 3:22 EST right before the big move up. At that time SPX was 1233. SPX hit 1242 8 minutes before the close, 8 minutes before the close SSO was at 57.50.

If I own stock on margin, can I use that margin to buy more stock. And then use that margin to buy more, and use the margin of the margin to buy more? Or is it "frozen"? Why would its value count toward ES futures? If you have 4k of a 5k account tied up in margin, why would any broker...
