ISE options exchange proposes punitive cancel charges for active traders

This link should work. http://www.iseoptions.com/legal/pdf/proposed_rule_changes/SR-ISE-2005-31$Fee_Changes$20050629.pdf There is still no cancel charge so long as the cancel:order ratio remains at 5:1 or less. It appears they are changing their existing cancel rule from a 5 to 1 order...

Margin Call on an IB IRA account (Need Suggestions)

I suspect Interactive Brokers made a mistake and knows it. In almost every thread that contains unfair criticism of IB one of their folks responds with an explanation. They have been remarkably quiet on this subject. This thread has been viewed (as I write this) 6,267 times and has had...

Long-term on this board is generally three or four weeks. Short-term can often be measured in milliseconds. http://www.goodmoney.com/directry_stkinv.htm There is a start for you. Beware of message boards touting quick returns. They are not what you want when you cannot replenish your...

    TradestationSerious Performance Issues: Alternates?

I thought Wealth-Lab stated that they would continue to support owners of WL who owned it prior to the Fidelity takeover. Unless you just had a demo copy in which case you could not purchase within the USA after the takeover. Do you own or just have a demo?

Up and down , how to locate?

Scanners don't fit my trading style but since my style is turtle-like I have time to read ET during the market day. I've noticed talk about scanners. It generally refers to commercial products or sites/services, how well or poorly they work, etc. Sorry I can't help any further.

Application of my fault-tolerant real-time technology

Joel: An intriguing concept but- I looked at the Erlang reference. Since the documentation is 200+ pages perhaps you can answer this question without my having to read it all. Does the language allow the user to write programs which can create a network of machines which act in a...

    Back test new trading system

What are you looking for? A back testing package available as part of your account such as Fidelity offering Wealth-Lab if you do 120 trades a year, or Trade Station (TS) offering its software at half price ($100/month) if you use them as your broker, or something else? In both cases you...

Margin Call on an IB IRA account (Need Suggestions)

Maybe I should have stated that standard IRA accounts are cash only. Margin not allowed. That's the reason I set up my hypothetical the way I did.

    IB margin rate

I noticed my error but Ebo had already posted the actual single day, non-compounded answer. I'm not sure if IB uses 360 or 365/366 as a divisor.

Margin Call on an IB IRA account (Need Suggestions)

I don't have an IRA with IB so I really doubt if I'd get an answer. I posted the question because it seems to apply to the originator of this thread.

Margin Call on an IB IRA account (Need Suggestions)

Perhaps someone could answer this hypothetical: I have an IB IRA account. I am long 10 contracts of GOOG at 300 (1000 shares). I have $1K in cash in the account and no other equity. I elect to exercise the options to buy the 1000 shares of GOOG at 300 because I plan to immediately sell...

    IB margin rate

You add the interest shown in the Benchmark chart to the interest shown in the Margin chart. In the Benchmark chart Under USD - Libor you'll see 3.046%. Under the Margin chart (USD) for less than $100K the adder is 1.5%. Add the two together and you've got the daily rate.

Does it run faster with fewer charts? With your charts up and running open Task Manager under Windows (Ctrl-Alt-Del under 2000 and XP). Go to the Performance tab. Take a look at your CPU utilization. If it is at 100% then switch to the Processes tab. Double click the CPU column to get the...

    Simple Options S7 Question

I think you folks are reading too much into what we have to work with. Depending on the way the question was asked and the other multiple choice answers, if the question was about money and not ROI the answer is correct. If about ROI, then we'd need to see the other answers as this one...

Margin Call on an IB IRA account (Need Suggestions)

Assuming you are unfamiliar with Green, he is a CPA specializing in trader's taxes. He expanded a few years back to add some attorneys under his company umbrella. Green himself is easy to talk to. He used to charge about $200/250/hr in quarter hour increments.
