Many of us have LEARNED what to do (and just as importantly) what NOT to do.....if we 'know' something you don't it's only because we put the time in to understand the game from the ground level. We took it past the hobby stage.

Would just seem that someone who knew how markets 'really work' would want to use that knowledge to make vast profits from trading. Maybe that's just how I see it, who knows.

I'm just amazed that a 'hobby' trader seems to think he knows it all in terms of what's not possible....very odd. :)

Just further proof that some people are meant to be pro's in a field and others just casual observers (i.e hobbyists)

LOL!!....are you insane? Honest question....b/c what trader would give up their secret like that just to prove to some hobby trader that their method works.

They vary from day to day as the tempo varies. For instance I had a long trade via the 86/87 min chart yesterday a little before 2pm. Today, these frames may carry no weight. I essentially have to search through time frames each day to find the ones that the mkt is operating on via my method...

I wish I had the luxury back then, but I had to be ultra conservative. It was very tough....sitting and formulating and wanting to trade more but not being able to risk it at that time. Feels good to have come a long way since those days :)

It's only because I was so anal about not blowing through cash. I would have easily done the same as you, but then I wouldnt have been able to continue. So I had to suck it up and spend 2 years essentially trading very small and infrequently while most of my time was spent observing, writing...

My failures were temporary, that is the point. Temporary failures met with persistence lead to successes. You gotta get back on the horse otherwise you'll wander around aimlessly looking for something that you can succeed at the first time. Chances are THAT 'something' won't pay very well...

By 'failure' I didn't mean in a monetary sense. I started off very slowly and a couple times I thought I 'had it', further observation proved me wrong. This was mentally draining but I pushed ahead taking the best and 'leaving the rest'. Eventually I was able to put the pieces of something...

Amen. If I gave up the first few times I built a trading approach, I'd be long gone from this biz. Some people are just mentally stronger than others.

Surf thinks because he's read many BOOKS on trading that this somehow means he understands what is or isn't possible. I find it humorous :)

Ok....but what I said THEN was completely true about you. Also, you still need to work on the ego issue. Can't get too up or down in this business. Stay even keeled. I see this as a major weakness in you right now.

I think the variable that would change your mind would be the ability to be profitable. I agree, no sense in trading full time if the skills aren't there yet to do so.

But you are plenty arrogant enough to claim that all TA is worthless when you have only a teeny tiny fraction of actual experience. TA is so vast, and it's applications are almost unlimited. For you to think you 'know' that it's crap is laughable.....I mean seriously....I cant stop chuckling...
