I don't know of any free real time chats. There are a few rooms that give a free one week trail. IM me for good rooms.

MIKE- I set my trailing stop @ .15 and let it go. In most cases I get out before it is triggered. However, there are times when the market is too fast and I can't act quickly enough so the stop is triggered. I'm a momentum trader and this seems to work well for me.

I have found that 72.6% of my profits and 13.7% of my losses come from the mornings. Conversely, 27.4% of my profits and 86.3% of my losses come from the rest of the day. One might suggest for me to give up afternoon trading, but I can't. Trading is like a drug for me. I need the fast pace...

I am having a hard time getting filled on the short side in fast moving stocks like--AMAT, BRCD & BRCM. Seems like the stock blows right through my order causing me to lose hundreds on each one. Anybody else having this problem? I'm using IB.

Interesting comment about the difficulty of shorting as I am having the same problem. Are the rest of you having this problem getting filled on the short side?

Today was a hiccup. More downside in my opinion. Earnings aren't pretty and the market is too over valued. I think the dow needs to be around 6000 and the naz around 1000.

Just wondering how many traders on ET are scalpers(speed traders)? My bread and butter comes from quick 20 to 40 cent bursts and then I'm out. Sometimes the stock keeps going, other times it reverses. Nonetheless, I'm out when momentum stalls. It only takes a few seconds before the market gets...
