KB96, You're right on the money. The whole point of a trailing stop is to allow a trader to liquidate a position when he/she isn't watching the bottom fall out of a stock. A stop limit doesn't guarantee this.

Always let your profits run. However, when they stop running--BAIL OUT! My personal trading style doesn't allow me to stay put when momentum hesitates. When it stalls, I'm gone--See ya!

It dawned on me once a long time ago that most of what I was certain about was really quite uncertain after all. That part of trading seemed rather natural thereafter. This doesn't mean that something inside me doesn't seek certainty. Only that I'm reconciled that true certainty isn't going...

publias, I've previously given my per day average--YTD . $512 was yesterday's performance. Today: I started with $33, 767 and made $678 after commish. That would be roughly 2%. I'm gettin' better. LOL! The point is, 1% consistently is very attainable. Good luck to you.

I made $512 after commish today. I started the day with $33,255 in my account. That would be roughly 1.5%.

It's all relative. For me, 1% is low. I trade with a constant $30,000-$35,000 account and average $434 a day. Worse case, $434 / $35,000 = 1.2% . It's is definitely doable. Good Luck

Today was one of my best short side days. I usually have a hard time initiating short sells in this environment--but not today.
