    What is your ES/NQ/YM leverage

i would have expected more conservative numbers. what are people using for swing trades? so basically, suppose 3k per ES in a 60k account, a 2 point stoploss on 20 contracts would be 3% risk on the account. something seems a little top heavy to me about holding $1,032,500 worth of futures...

"This is the worst case of insider trading ever."

lol. maybe 'they' want the offending traders to think it all blew over so that they try to claim their profits, and thats when *BAM* we nail em. or maybe bt alex brown, buzz krongard, nora slatkin and the rest of them really did engineer the most evil theft imaginable, and it has been simply...

    A Dynamic Self-Adaptive Trading System

well, everything i see is vague. can you tell us any more about your system? For example, is it only the entry timing that is adaptive, or are the exits and position sizing also adaptive (or are these static)?

    A Dynamic Self-Adaptive Trading System

can you describe more about what this system is adapting to? it sounds like it's continually re-optimizing some indicator on a continual basis. is this correct?

"This is the worst case of insider trading ever."

I'm not a conspiracy nut, but I think I remember reading that Buzzy Krongard (former Director of the CIA) was a board member of BT Alex Brown, holder of one of the biggest put positions on UAL going into 911.

    Is news necessary to trading?

y, i watch the news only for my personal knowledge. it has absolutely zero bearing on my trades (except in extreme circumstances). like girlpower and others said, really, the market reflects the news way faster than the television. it's kind of cool, if something is going on, we'll always be...

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development

just want to clarify, my advice earlier in the thread to trade the system and not sleep on it or forward test it for months assumes that one has already performed rigorous backtesting and evaluation. if a system has so many degrees of freedom that a forward test kills it dead, it was a bad...

    Full Moon Today

I'm not purporting for one second that astrology has merit, but in the past, two seperate emergency room nurses I know independently corroborated that there are always significantly more accidents during full moons.

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development

the only way to truly know if a new high frequency system is tradable is to trade it. if something looks really good, don't ponder and sim trade it for months, trade it now. keep ultra accurate records of actual vs system fills, chart them against each other, and if the system is too good to...

Is anyone having problems contacting Tradestation by email today?

what argument can someone make for using TS 7.1 for $2400 a year, when 2000i is available for a one-time $200 fee + data feed? If all you needed was realtime, you could literally feed 2000i from IB for the $100 cost of the special software to do so. I am chewing on this question right now...

I Wish Et Would Ban More People

AMEN. bring out the lawn mower, and cut these weeds. this place needs help. i read about a tenth of what i used to. it's just not worth my time any more. although i wonder if you could take the raging noise level as a pretty bullish sign.
