Any suggestions on a news service for equities that is not audio-based? I would like to be able to type in a stock symbol and get the most up-to-date news on that stock. Currently use flyonthewall but need something faster but less expensive than Bloomberg. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well said, and I think this mindset should apply to all trading strategies and not only OOs.

I recall one of the founders of pairtrader.com, Steve Slavin, quitting this game and going to work for a bank since he wasn't making any money using his own firm's strategies. This fact alone does not give one much confidence in their products or trading methods.

The recent issue on this board about Assent seems to be how the new Sungard owners are going to deal with the company's Assent division and not about Assent going belly up. If Sungard should decide to shut down Assent, then traders get their money back and go elsewhere. So what's the big deal...

It's funny that the people making all these comments about Assent aren't even traders with that firm. I don't even recall any trader in our (Assent) office making one single comment about the possible effects of Sungard's sale on our trading. If the new owners of Sungard should decide to close...
