Scalping a lot today. 100% win rate, made up for the lack of action on my end the last 2 days. Not gonna bother about missing some very big moves. Was targeting Tuesday's low, but the longer my win streak got the less willing I was to give it back. Seeing as I knew the objective but not the...

Never heard the term seed wave before. The way I use channels is mostly useful on short term tick charts, or 1-2 minute charts, and mostly with futures. I'm not sure why that is, but something about their character and the horizontal "spreading" effect of tick charts seems to work well with...

Yup I agree, that's what I saw. But also I think the 3rd touch of the trend line may actually have been the break and retest. I had my 2nd touch on the wick rather than the body, which obscured that break.

What's your personality? Which one makes the best traders?

I'm an INTP-T. Hopefully that jives with trading. You need to follow rules to trade but you also have to be very agile i think.

Manually. Starting point is just the swing high or low where the trend originated, usually connected to the body (opening price) of the starting point of the 2nd leg within the trend.

Haven't been a big fan of the price action the last couple days. Thats not to say I think its objectively "bad", I just haven't seen many simple or clear opportunities. This short on MES could definitely been managed better, there was a chance to add on and the trend would have been easy enough...

Sim traded oil today a bit but no live trades because I had other obligations and started 2 hours late, wasn't feeling it.

will do, thanks. Just off the top of my head, I feel like a lot of times there is a pullback to take break even stops or just grab liquidity above the swing

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. I was looking over the chart I posted while answering your questions and it definitely provided a simplicity/clarity that I'm going to try and recall in tomorrow's session. I would like to be able to post a chart in which I successfully avoid overtrading/emotional...

Yep I got you, I have my own style and view of things, so I'm not super vulnerable to system chasing or throwing out my experience, just looking to refine it and contrast it with whatever it comes into contact with through dialogue. And I totally agree with your last paragraph, I had a similar...

Sure, 2 that stood out to me that look like patterns i use would be the hammer and engulfing bars.

    1. A signal to sell short: a lower high off the top of a range, where the bar breaks higher before reversing down and closing at or near its low. 2. A signal to continue to hold a trade: a powerful bar in my direction with little or no wick on either side.

Yes. I can act on what I see. Not completely consistently depending on my mental state, but in general yes.

Still working through this issue where I eventually get into a good position and manage it well (circled area on the chart), but waste a lot of money, commissions, mental capital getting there. When I am patient, I tend to do pretty well. But it seems like I usually have to get through some...

Yep, that's what I mean. I can tell tell by how fast or slow the bars are printing and their average range and get a good impression of the volume, volatility, etc. I mostly stick to minute charts on other instruments since I don't have as much experience with them.

I just started with 2k tick ES charts early on so its what my eyes are used to in terms of getting a feel for the pace/volatility intraday. But I use short term minute charts too, especially in other markets where I dont have specific tick values to lean on, or if I'm trading the overnight session.

Working on getting in earlier and avoiding being late. Took a few losses to get into position, was being a little too early/sloppy. Once I felt I was in, I added on and rode it up to the equal highs. Tried to jump back in with a 1 lot as I felt I hadn't given it enough of a chance to really run...
