steve, you're a nice guy a contribute greatly to this thread so bare with me with my lack of statistical skills. perhaps i should have posed this as a question opposed to a poll.

the poll is this: how many of you trade news/earnings ect..and play gap ups at the open opposed to waiting for intraday set ups?

    Is Anyone Bullish Real Estate?

i think we have at least another year. prices still have'nt fallen enough. another thing to remember is loan standards are much tougher so those that may have normally qualified may have a much tougher time. lets not for get the psychological aspect of this as well with so many people reading...

you can all laught at me- I BLEW UP

unfortunately this is one of those occupational hazzards. It has happened to me a few times and each time is a learning experience. actually there are only a few rules that a trader needs to follow but paramount is understanding the true implications. for example,do not hold overnight. make a...

the jobs numbers were big surprise

also,it begs the question. will a rate cut even help? could we be in a predictament where the economy slowed so much that lower rates will be ineffective? look at 2000 when the ded started to lower rates.

the jobs numbers were big surprise

contrary to what some might say,the street expected a weak number but not one that was this weak. also, prior months were revised down. this was simply a disaster.

    Pre-Market Trading

never trade pre-market or after hours unless you know what you are doing. you can really take a beating.i've seen more traders blow up trading extended hours than any other stradegy next to buying the open on a gap up.

    an amateur trading mistake

its almost "revenge trading". a trader can become irrational and become fixated on a loss. does'nt matter if its 800 or 8,000, the same thing still happens as a trader wants his money back as soon as possible. i actually have a list of rules hanging in front of my computer that i will never...

    an amateur trading mistake

was having a conversation about some of the bad habits traders have and decided to post one that really stood out. when a trader loses lets say 800 on a given day,he will go into the next trading day with one thing in mind:try and get that 800 back as soon as possible. that will just create a...
