Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Small distinction: this was in the context of Larry Phillips describing poker psychology, though. Obviously the other players want everyone's money as much as you want theirs, and brokers and exchanges want volume to get their frictional fees in the middle, but that's not necessarily the most...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Ahh yes, Mr. Poker. :) I found a similar message in Mark Douglas' Trading In The Zone. As much as I hated his Disciplined Trader being redundant and full of pseudoscience, I thought that his Zone was a good introduction to trading psychology: think in probabilities and eliminate all emotions...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Oh no, I like it. So you grew personally as a trader in addition to having evolved from harder stops and targets into a flexible approach closer to Wyckoff's. I think that's an important lesson by example for newcomers.

I like that. Have you summarized what those general differences have been? If not, would you care to? :)

The document's there if you want to check it out. The information it contains speaks for itself. You may want to dismiss it for what it is of course, but please don't do so because the author's unknown or likes childish web design. I'm not here to vouch for the guy personally; I don't know...

Then unless you're someone really special, the same applies to everyone else who wishes to participate in this public exchange of ideas.

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

There are several sources, including where you were at http://www.median-line-study.com/free-download/ where the result is a 4.0mb PDF. It's also freely available in other first-page Google results in various forms. I'll post the file right here if that's allowed. (And no doubt about it...

Then write to him privately, or expect others to participate. That's the definition of a public forum.

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Such hostility and impatience... Either ignore someone or be polite. Name calling is juvenile and is a disservice to all involved. Honestly I think you have it backwards: @dbphoenix doesn't seem to be self-appointed in that position of authority which you perceive. That some people tend to...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

It was right there in the post you replied to: Andrews' median lines. Greg Fisher did a doctoral thesis about it, entitled "Using median lines as a trading tool". It's freely available. The Modified-Schiff median line is especially interesting in the context of this thread, because it's just...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

You're the one labeling him as such, by the way, and I don't understand why. When I arrived here, I didn't see him as being so much of a "preacher" as you do, but just as someone who cares enough to answer people's questions about his personal methods. "Take it or leave it." I'll assume you...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Interesting. So, some sources of information other than price are useful to you? I've been dismissive of market depth personally (after hearing whales detail how they can hide their volume at will, etc.) and I can't really think of much else, apart from arbitration but that's not really a...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

(Merging responses again to keep things organized.) You've ignored this twice already, but I'll risk a third time because I'm highly interested: how do you make money? More importantly to this thread, how have you scientifically disproved Wyckoff's validity in modern markets? You're...

Virtu Celebrates Another Year Without a Single Day of Losses

I hadn't thought of that part, thinking "portfolio margin" was as leveraged as it could get. Thank you for clarifying!

Virtu Celebrates Another Year Without a Single Day of Losses

Yes but we're talking about opportunities in presumably thousands of instruments in parallel, and I doubt this is always limited to small lots.

Very well put. I'll add that I learned a new word today: Bigotry is a state of mind where a person obstinately, irrationally, unfairly or intolerantly dislikes other people, ideas, etc.

    Observations (an example)

The one aspect of peeking in your 2002-2003 threads which I enjoyed, was seeing the evolution in your style and glance at where you came from. That has some value in the process. :)

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

I like that trends are easier to identify on the daily, but because it requires more capital, it's an "after a year or two of growth" project for me. My money management is very conservative and I'd be lucky to grow my modest account by 50%/year under those conditions. Down a notch, the hourly...
