i've waited 35 minutes for a fill sometimes :o make sure you know how things work, so you won't be surprised. also, i find slippage tends to average out in the long run....some days bad slippage, some days slippage in your favor.... my guess is you are playing a game that you haven't yet...

why not just extend your vacation? instead of taking a 2 week vacation and leaving trading at home, take a 2 MONTH vacation and trade at your hotel room or whatever....that's what i intend to do....probably even on my honeymoon ;) you have freedom from a work location, so USE it!!! take...

I'm sorry, but without any type of statical analysis you are just spewing nonsense.... your system might have a 50% win rate, but it could have 10 winning days in a row. what i am saying here is that for you to be able to justify increasing or decreasing size depending on your equity curve...

Great points. I was able to 'convince' myself that system/mechanical trading (automated) is the way to go (for me). I don't think that confidence would have come unless I saw someone do it (you know who you are!); for that, i am forever greatful. Having another trading buddy helps you...

ditto. as much as trading is psychologically devastating at times, engineering was like running a track meet in quicksand. the faster you tried to run, the harder it was. i found out that when working for other people, its best to be 'just good enough'. sad. oh, yeah i'm self-taught...
