you really need to see what is going on with your particular instrument that you trade. here are some things that i have realized while closely watching t&s.....you can't just watch the t&s by itself. you have to take it in context with everything else. t&s will always reveal what is going on...

for intraday trading, i would give 13,5,6 a try. much clearer and more precise. i used to use a 34 ema, but i found that to be insignificant compared to using a 5/13/20 sma setup. the 5 sma gives you a price guide. NEVER place an order far away from this line. always try to place an order...

i keep a daily journal but i rarely go back and re-read them. its more for reinforcement more than anything. i seem to remember things better when i write them down. i typically will only write about new things i see, or something that i might be able to tweak in my approach to entries/exits...

paulus, it is not necessary as a trader to guess which way the market will go. don't bother yourself with trying to predict the future. focus on developing a system that works and follow that system religiously. good luck.

vision....i just recently switched from 1 min charts to 5 min charts and its been great. i go for an average of about 40 cents / day trading SPY. average 3-5 trades a day, although i have been overtrading (this is something you will find yourself doing at first, if you switch to 5 min charts)...
