    See Ya Rudy

Neither Clinton nor Edwards have any plan to raise capital gains taxes. both of their planned tax increases apply to income only, and in Hillary's case only to those who earn over $250K per year. Oddly, she has support from women execs who will have a tax increase under her admin. I'm not sure...

    See Ya Rudy

I was unaware that Mitt is a zero cap gains tax advocate. But Alan Greenspan is a zero cap gains tax advocate too, and nobody listened to him either. Under my plan, the cap gains tax would be eliminated, but revenues to the govt from the financial markets would actually increase. I propose...

    See Ya Rudy

When I read about Giuliani's strategy to bypass the early primaries and campaign in Florida, I figured he must have "known something" because all the pundits said it was a risky strategy. Giuliani didn't get to be mayor of New York by being dumb, I thought he must have had something up his...

    See Ya Rudy

I don't understand how Giulaini fell so far in the Florida polls. He had a double digit lead just a few weeks ago, and now he's toast? Why? I have no party affiliation and I'm in California, so I can't vote for a cadidate in the primaries anyway. but I really wanted Giuliani to win. It seems...

    Swift Trade Interview

I've heard about prop firms asking math questions during the interview, and gaming questions too. WTF for? If I were hiring a trader I wouldn't care if he could compute 14568 * 568 in his head. That's got nothing to do with trading. neither does knowing what poker hand to bet with.

Quotes from the Stock Bubble's Past

Back in August of 1995 the Dow had crossed 4500 and a lot of people were saying it couldn't go much higher. On August 9, 1995 Netscape had it's IPO. It was priced at 28 and within just a few short minutes of trading it shot all the way to about 75 or so. I can't remember how many...

My data program says RMG is on the Amex, but the WSJ stock tables have it on the NYSE. Which is it?

    IBD turns completely bearish

I haven't read IBD in years, I don't like their reporting. Daily market summaries would be peppered with phrases like "you have to remember that", or "think about this". When I read a market summary, I want a report, not a lecture.

I Have Been Trading Since Before The Internet-1990

Here's an entry I made in my diary on 6/16/1998: "Ameritrade options 25 + 1.75 per $29 min, 10% discount on electronic. Suretrade option 25 +2 Scottsdale 20 +1.60" I was an option trader in those days! I lasted a few months, that made me one of the best. :p

pattern day trader - the ARROGANCE rule

It's an NASD rule, but don't blame the NASD either. Blame the fucking idiot daytraders from the roaring 90's. Whenever they had a losing trade they emailed 14,652 complaints to various NASD officials about all of the scams by the MM's and exchange members that caused them to lose when they knew...

    New York Times Objectivity

The days of print newspapers are numbered. They only have a couple of elections left before they are history. But even after they are gone candidates like Paul are still not going to be elected. He isn't serious about campaigning. He could start by finding out how much the income tax brings...

    WSJ bad reporting on politics

CBS news is reporting Romney has 35 and Mcain 32. http://election.cbsnews.com/campaign2008/#delegate_scorecard Different newspapers have different criteria for who to call the front runner. In the last Dem primary they were all calling Dean the front runner before a single election had...

What to do with an 800 rebate?

Who say's we're getting $800? Paulson said today they are being deliberately vague because they don't know how much, IF ANY, will be rebated. I bet it will be much less than $800 by the time the deal is done. The last rebate we got was $300. That wasn't even enough for a car payment.
