The SPX weekly options are now listed for 4 separate dates. They used to be listed one week at a time, with the new week added on Thursday. Starting today they are listed 1 month out, four separate expiration dates.

ITM Put Which Is Not Exercised At Expiration

In order for a in the money option not to be exercised at expiration, a Contrary exercise must be filed by 5:30pm et on the Friday of expiration (different brokerages will have different cutoff times to enable them to meet this OCC requirement). So it is extremely unlikely for a deep in the...

CME/CBOT Seat Leases -Why have they just dropped in value?

It may have to do with the ICE listing of grain contracts to compete with the CME.

    Short Restrictions and Market Makers

I stand corrected, you were right Bob. I thought that MM's still had to get a locate, but apparently not. Though as you said, they still have buy in risk (though I am told it is T+6 instead of T+3). Buy in risk could be substantial though, as you could be bought in on the cash market...

    CBOE SPX feed into IB?

SPX Pit traded at the CBOE European expiration based on morning settlement prices on expiration Friday. Wide quoted markets, tight inside markets. Orders may or may not be filled instantly, based on what type of order is quoted. Quotes are sent by one market maker only, but can be changed by...

    Short Restrictions and Market Makers

I think you are wrong here Bob. If MM's were exempt from this requirement, they could make a fortune shorting hard to borrows vs options.

    SPX VS SPY Weeklys

This is not what I noticed. I mainly trade the SPX weeklies. Option prices under 3 are between .10 and .20 wide (equal to .01 and .02 on SPY) Higher priced options are usually between .20 and .40 wide. Can't get much tighter than that. Their electronic platform gives instant fills as well...

Where to invest my lottery win

I agree with the poster that suggested investing in more lottery tickets. They key is to buy the same number with all your money. That way if anyone else picks the same number, you will get most of the money if you win. You may want to diversify into a few scratch off tickets. It...

    What is this called?

This is exactly the same as buying the stock outright, except you will pay a bit more in commissions. The only time this play makes sense for a retail trader is when a stock is hard to borrow. If this is the case, you will have an edge over simply buying the stock outright.

    Supersized SPY options coming!!!

Dont think they will have SPXPM weekly options, as the SPX weeklies are exactly the same thing. Both are settled based on the afternoon closing price of the SPX. In terms of market width, since the SPX is 10 times the size of the SPY's a .20 wide market in the SPX weekly is equal to a .02...

0.5 left when put expired OTM?

Options can be exercised until 4:30pm central time. If you bought the put at .50, you would have this time to trade Apple after hours and potentially exercise your puts against your stock trade.

    SPY Weeklys vs SPX Weeklys

Not exactly true. SPXPM A singly listed product on the C2 (separate exchange owned by the CBOE) This is an all electronic exchange. Multiple market makers send quotes in electronically. There are no pits/open outcry brokers. Shouldn't matter what broker you use as all trades done...

    SPY Weeklys vs SPX Weeklys

SPY Weeklies are traded electronically, unlike the regular SPX, so a broker wont really help here. I love this product. Fairly tight spreads, and electronic environment. Also cash settlement and no early exercise.

SPXPM closing prices and auto liquidation

Check out the closing prices on the SPXPM options, some being $60 wide. Lets say you are a very conservative trader and are long the March 1455/1465 call spread. The 1455 calls closing market is no bid at .10. The 1465 calls are no bid at 50 (yes fifty dollars). So your long call spread...
