A few good opp's It's important to note that while this are good low risk entries, that means nothing, because it's the trade management, and exits that make it profitable or not. Getting to a risk free trade right away is important but not as much of a priority as staying in a good...

Studying the day's action in hindsight helps me in two ways, to have more confidence seeing how my method worked and to remind me to focus.

Ninja Trader w/ZenFire is excellent. I will post a chart of the setups I missed. I realize I missed a couple very nice setups today. I do work full time, so there's many distractions. I keep the chart up throughout the day. Sometimes my focus is taken away that I miss setups that are...

In Hindsight using a 10 point stop, and going for 1x risk MIN would have worked a bit better today. Friday will be interesting since I have the day off I can devote the morning to trading, getting up while the market is making the good moves. Market's in Profile is an excellent book...

-$68 for the day, 2 small losses. of 6, and 1 points, the rest of the trades breakeven Not bad and I consider such days a triumph, when I am wrong I don't mind at all if I am minimizing the impact. The last trade of the day turned out to be good but I placed my stop @ BE too quickly...

I missed this one though, I was out to lunch with clients. Today I was trying to trade the head and shoulders top before the market broke the 9200 level. I took several trades, all breakeven except the last one, which I lost 6 pts, a small loss before it went for a huge ride. It's interesting...

A place for me to post my trades, thoughts, ideas, and daily review for public review and feedback. My method is fairly simple and if someone wants I can post screen shots. I day trade only the YM, but note that I have only been trading my live account for 4 days after testing my strategy...

More downside action for crude - to test $50

He's right, I got a deal on it but it still wasn't worth it. It's only use is in a "Vantage Point" of the market, I have seen it's predictions completely fall apart for day trading. I don't think anyone can rely on the software exclusively. I think it appeals to the predictions bias and that's...

Exactly! Imagine bidding at the bid, being filled, and offering a couple points away. The opportunity factor would go through the roof on that kind of trading.

MOst people are wired to be careful with your profits and careless with your losses. You could simply set a OCO order, stop @ 8 pips, exit @ 8 pips and either one or the other will get hit. If you picked your entry well you should have a good % of winners.

Trade your way is great. The definitive Guide to Position sizing book at www.iitm.com is even better. It's a huge manual and will take you through the risk/how much process with a fine tooth comb, and give you several ideas to work from. Scalping is great, it just needs to be approached wisely...

The 1/5 is the execution/comission to the prime broker cost, not the spread. The interbank spreads are 0-5 pips depending on the market you trade but you dont have to PAY the spread, you can bid/offer and be filled at the bid/offer, see full depth of liquidity, no first come first serve order...

Trading remote for a US Prop firm in Canada

Nice work! what is your definition of scalping? We do plan on having remote trading, afterall the forex markets are 24 hours, and i wouldn't want to be at the office for 24 hours/day would you? There will have to be standards in place though as far as your home setup goes. Once things...

Trading remote for a US Prop firm in Canada

Not quite yet. I'm putting together the business plan now, starting as a trading group, managing a small group of funds, starting with 1 mill, then building a solid track record of at least 100 trades, then raising 10 mill. I'm looking for traders, programmers, etc to bring to our team once it's...

Any good traders out there looking to start a prop firm?

Sounds great! What position sizing model are you using to size your positions? Adjusting the risk level per trade and using more equity might make a nice system. My idea is to combine several systems on different markets, styles, etc to produce one heck of a managed fund!! I will check out your...
