1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I'm kind a sorry, but I'm having a darn hard time to see why FTT would be such a disaster  I've read that Obama only would tax the major banks leaving out individuals and other small private owned investment companies. Here in Denmark where I live are the Prime Minister still...

Best Country for Trading (Tax efficiency)

That sounds very strange, are you 100% confident about that? I live in Denmark and we've very tight tax regulations and laws, but still we're able to travel to another country, there is a lot of rules regarding that, but in short if you don't stay for more than 180 days each year in Denmark...

You hate facebook? Too bad...you will eventually get an account.

I live in Denmark, things has changed so much here. A bunch of new strange laws and regulations each day, weird politicians that struggle with their own logic, an ignorant Prime Minister (Helle Thorning Smith) that seems like a puppet controlled by an unknown group. And even worse, as we're a...

    SqlLite?

Hi steve, tradelink, thank you for input :) I'm aware what Sql are in normal usage :) , but in trading... and that is why I'm asking. I can't see any benefits in trading other than 3rd party applications that work with sql queries, but for developing something on your own it seems...

    Optomize with or without slippage?

IMHO, if you're optimizing, you're already cheating yourself. And if you're doing it without slippage you're cheating yourself even more.

c# Automated Trading Software created by myself

Yes event driven, sounds almost like a sales person trying to sell something old in a new box :) Well... events aren't so mysterious as many people think. My little framework raises an event whenever the a tick is received, as a tick could require an action of some sort, i.e. price change...

c# Automated Trading Software created by myself

Hi shewenhao I wouldn't use db4o when I'm able to develo my own storage fitted for my needs. db4o is very intesting when dealing with a lot of different objects with huge graphs/ entities, but for something as simle as a Tick or Quote I would rethink it :) Take a look here ...

    3.75million ticks per second

Hi mickmak A compression is defined in my architecture as an aggregation over a frequency of some type. For instance, as we all know "time", a compressor then takes the frequency, i.e. 5 minutes and each bar then consists of the ticks that matches between bar start time and bar end time...

    3.75million ticks per second

By a mistake I didn't mention, that it was for historical testing only :) In real time, it's only able to process 1.5million ticks per second, well at least in theory. This theory is based at my own tick plant and tick pipeline into the tick engine. Unfortunately I don't have access to a...

    3.75million ticks per second

Finally completed my tick compressor :) I was interested in making it much faster than the fabled TickZoom where the inventor claimed that it could process 11 million ticks in 8 seconds on a quad core machine. Well.. my algorithm compresses 3.75 million ticks per second in debug mode...
