Fail this question you should give up trading

The answer is (according to Barry Greenstein the poker player): 1) Novice will say tail (Not necessarily true, I think Mark D. Cook would say tail too according to some of his material) 2) The mathematician will say there is no edge. The next flip of anything is 50:50 (independent events)...

Fail this question you should give up trading

A bunch of us saw a guy on the street flipping a coin and got heads 10 times in a row. We decide to bet among ourselves. Would you bet on head or tail on the next flip of coin?

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

Let me draw an analogy. If this was a medical website, you would be like a patient asking a doctor to pull his pants down. :D

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

:) We all should get some sleep. I am not trading tomorrow (need to drive my wife somewhere) so I can stay up late.

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

Cheetos, I wasn't all that worried until your last few posts... maybe it is just late. I think you are already sick of all the advices you are getting. You could be onto something but you should get your law degree because you can. Every joe can trade... the market will always be there. KC

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

Good posts from dog and hydrant. I only trade emini so I did not look at cheeze's stock trades but I kinda believe in cheeze's numbers because something like that happened to me. It did not end as well as I would like the first time because I was inexperienced. I agree with dogballoon. The...

Cheetos, Read your own passage one more time. This is your wisdom speaking. Do you want to be a good trader? Learn to take a vacation NOW. Only compulsive gambler worries about missing actions. Regarding after 2:00pm trades, if you don't feel good trading then, don't trade them...

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

BTW, nice screenname. Remind me of Mark Weinstein in Market Wizards: "Although the cheetah is the fastest animal in the world and can catch any animal on the plains, it will wait until it is absolutely sure it can catch its prey. It may hide in the bush for a week, waiting for just the right...

My dilemma - too good to be true? How long can I last?

Cheetos, Nice trades! Remember the old adage "Winners (trades) take care of themselves." Focus your effort into defense... winning streak can make a trader less atune to handling losses. What you are going thru is not as atypical as you think? But you do have to monitor yourself...

Who had and solved problem of fighting the trend?

Hi wromgway, I am a little confused... Do you mean you don't add to a losing trade because you stop yourself out early on partial position? What's a rejection? I like your post. Thanks. Regards, KC

Any part-time trader here with a proper day job?

I trade ES emini in the morning and works as a programmer from noon on so I can get health insurance for my family and have no pressure during losing streak or while stop trading after a winning streak. Sometimes the job takes more energy from me than I would like but it's good to have a job.

Who had and solved problem of fighting the trend?

Time is important to me too. I like the period between 9:50 to 11:20am est (3 half-hour sessions) for reversals. I do try to buy reversal on a pullback during trend day but extra patience required. :( I am thinking about spacing out my trades after a loser so I don't shoot at the same...
