    Coffee . . .

The commercials will catch on. I have learned to look at COT data for the overall trend in commodities, but my rule is that whenever people start talking about abundant oversupplies, the commodity is going to take off. This time around, I think Coffee can hit about $5-$8.

    Coffee . . .

Look at coffee on the monthly charts and add an RSI or MACD. We are showing a bullish divergence. The last time we saw a bullish divergence, Coffee took off like a rocket ship. Furthermore, once people start yapping about how there is tremendous oversupply in a commodity, like coffee, it...

    Should we self-insure?

I'm a free market kind of guy, and if you go long futures and expect somebody to bail you out when you lose it all in a market crash, then you are an idiot. When it comes to trading there is no emotion, no morals, just numbers.

    Should we self-insure?

Sas, what kind of arb agreement are you talking about? I spoke to my broker the other day, the shorts will get paid out. The broker can go bancrupt but the funds are segregated. You get paid in full on the short. It is not insured like a stock is insured, but they have to pay you in full...

    Coffee . . .

Prae: There are mini coffee futures. You can long on those. Waggie: I'm not allowed to show me data or I can get into some trouble with my data provider. If you can find the expected and actual numbers for the natural gas reports from about 11/25/20003 to 12/10/2003, that is all you need.

    Coffee . . .

Waggie, when natural gas had its huge move recently, all of the news coming out was saying that supplies were huge, and that was WAY BEARISH for Natural Gas. But what did NG do??? RIPPED HUGE!!!! UP UP and AWAY!!! NG did exactly the opposite of what your fundamentals would say. This...

    Investing in REAL STUFF.

Great, I got some responses. I had to stir some people up when I posted. I was just curious what people thought about how the big guys push these beliefs upon the small investor. I share all of your views that it does not matter if a stock is going up or down. If you can make money, it...

Where do the larger futures traders execute and clear these days?

I was looking into the same thing a while back. I spoke with a few clearing firms that were located in the NYMEX building. You should look up Pioneer futures. They will give you a good RT. Also, you may consider buying leasing a seat with your kind of RTs. If you leased a seat, you would be...

    Investing in REAL STUFF.

Nobody shares my view? Maybe you are all sheep and we are about to get taken out in the 3rd leg of the bear market, and 90% of your will be broke and begging for financial support. There, maybe somebody will reply now.

THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL REASON. COFFEE IS IN A GIGANTIC OVERSUPPLY, THUS THE PRICE IS REALLY LOW!!!! THUS, NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY!!!! Also, there are technical reasons and Divergence reasons. Look at a monthly chart on coffee and add an RSI or MACD. BULLISH DIVERGENCE SCREAMING AT...

    Investing in REAL STUFF.

I'm a young guy, and I have been trading all sorts of different markets for about 5-6 years actively. I'm really beginning to believe that Wall St, Polliticians, and guys like Kudlow, and Cramer want us to invest in stocks and bonds of companies that do not make any money, or at least do not...

    Coffee . . .

That's where you are incorrect. There IS A FUNDAMENTAL REASON for going long coffee. The US Dollar is pooping on itself, and demand is increasing world wide for commodities. I really love Coffee and Timber. Waggie, do you trade financial futures and stocks, or do you trade...

    Coffee . . .

Seth, I've been obcessing over coffee for months now. There are weird divergences going on in coffee on the monthly charts. I was thinking about buying some calls and then having the calls excersized if they hit me and blow through to expiration. If the USD gets reamed for much...

    IB Is So Unreliable

There is only one real solution to very stable market data. You have to get a direct connection such as a T-1. That way, you only make 1 or 2 hops to the data server. If you are using a dsl or cable connection, all sorts of funky things can go wrong. just my 2 cents.

    Interactive Brokers and API

Bob, thanks for uploading the files. I don't want to be a baby and ask for the step by step "how to," but I actually have no idea how to use this stuff. If you wouldn't mind explaining how to use these files, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Interactive Brokers and API

Blade is a retard. A lot of hedge funds use the IB TWS. Data is data. You can use ILX for your data, the pro track data services. Whatever you want to use. Tradestation. In the end, it is all of the same stuff.
