Unbelievable but true: CFTC declares Technical Analysys as FRAUD :D!!!

Academics just produce drivel, usually paid for by the public sector, same as a welfare bum. You can question every last thing in their belief system including the supposed ancient age of the universe and find really good arguments against them from really bright and well educated and...

Help me buy a new car (and what about cars and gender?)

Peace for sure. Depends on what you call quality, the 30 day JD Powers thing doesn't mean a lot to me. My Camaro has 262,000 miles on it, no squeaks, no rattles, tight as a drum. It is only worth about $1500 so I don't do the maintenance like I could, but it is still a fun and quality ride...

Esignal ain't what it's cracked up to be

If you are researching data vendors break them up in two categories, first tier (get their data straight from the exchanges) and second tier (get their data from a first tier provider). The first tier ones have less problems because there is "less moving parts". My strats don't depend on quick...

    Robotic/Auto-execution self-designed program trading

Nobody anywhere thinks that unattended automated trading is a reality yet. There are aftermarket items that hook tradestation to IB. I'm working with that stuff as we speak but it's not up and running yet and when it is I'm going to be watching it all day. Max

    Separate trading office

Oh yeah. That is a big part of my short term planning, get an office far enough from home so I won't be called on to do errands or bothered by anything less than a true crisis. I come home and my home office space has been rearranged to accomodate a guest, or just rearranged, or my book shelves...

Help me buy a new car (and what about cars and gender?)

If you are going to be driving on pavement, absolute best value, fun, fun, fun to drive car is a Camaro. With the V6 and 5 speed you have balance and .9G turns, with the Aluminum V8 and 4 speed auto you have convenience and power and .8G turns. You have to modify them so the radiator cooling...

Soloflex & Home Gyms in General

I have a soloflex, it was cheap. I tried all the exercises you can do on it but I wound up getting free weights, one in each hand is a more natural workout than using a bar. I stand in low karate stances while I'm working my shoulders and arms. I use the soloflex only for a couple of exercises I...

    Now Documented: Brain Kills Profits

So, what are you thinking when you want to make these tweaks to your system? "It can't be this simple" or "If it is really this simple I will feel funny making $ from it" or something like that? Or is it just fear that the system won't work? Max

    Earnings Surprises; Historical EPS surprises

You can look at individual stocks on yahoo finance and have a record of expectations and actual reported earnings for a few quarters, also briefing.com has a lot of material and a searchable database. When a surprise is reported the prices tend to move very fast, hard to trade it seems to me. Max

    Mit Orders

There are some aftermaket things on IB's website that might do what you want, Tradebolt might do it, it runs in a standalone mode but it's made for autotrading with Tradestation, also Dynaorder might be useful to you. Max

Imperative mode of communication? Try that on the markets. I can just see it: "give me the money". Max

Is it worth it to pony up $200 more for a Pentinum4 laptop instead of an AMD?

Well, we here at ET did receive such a report, about a half dozen people were having the same problem and every one of them had an AMD processor. Max

    My Metastock strategy

I had a strategy that produced 92% winners during the big run-up of 1999, winners averaged about 5% in one to two days and losers averaged about 0% in one day. It was a buy the dips strategy (which only works in an uptrend). I developed it by looking at charts and keeping results on paper, later...

    here you go, meat eaters...

I did a lot of informal research on diet. Anthropologists have never found a place on Earth where you can get all the nutrients you want without eating meat. End of discussion for me. I work with a Vegan guy, 112 pounds, looks like shit, unhealthy after 25 years on that diet. I think Veganism is...

    Highest level of education?

Read "The Millionaire Next Door". Typical profile was a Bachelor's degree and some entrepreneurial effort. I have worked with a few PhD's over the years and I came to admire their approach to work if nothing else. They worked patiently and were very productive compared to the rush-rush guys...

Is it worth it to pony up $200 more for a Pentinum4 laptop instead of an AMD?

I recall that, I dumped my AMD box and got a P4 on an Intel motherboard. Never regretted that for a second. Gamers are the ones that need the AMD performance edge, I want reliability to the nth degree if I can get it. Max
