Tradestation can't do basic math?? Is its floating point reliable?

make sure your bars back settings are the same on all charts and that all charts actually have the same number of bars. for instance, a 50 period EMA placed on 100 bars will give a slightly different value that if it is placed on 400 bars. this is probably the source of the problem.

well he went to school in Kentucky... but I am still trying to figure out how he would get a decent grade on something that did not involve eating... I have an idea though. BoWo did the test have questions like these? A) Calculate the smallest limb diameter on a tree that will support a...

    A) Can you please define "good ones"? What do you mean when you say a good model? B) I think you are misusing Touche. Please google it and check how the word is actually used. C) In my mind, I associate the word douche (sometimes douchbag, sometimes just douche) with you BoWo. Funny...

    Maths wizz only thanks

are you working in Excel / VBA? If so, the code =RAND() should give better results than your super dooper angly thingy me jig. Try it out. All other programming languages have formulas that will work as well. You also can construct a quite serviceable analog proxy using some common household...

Yeah I gave him a listen too... and even the core idea is ridiculous. he's a kid that half-learned some stuff at a fourth or fifth rate school, couldn't pass CFA level 1, and tries to throw random crap in a presentation to impress people. It doesn't even make sense. He obviously doesn't...

How are you positioning for the eventual Market top?

Love the topic title. Short answer: We have been more or less long since 3/5. Will get short when it tops. Easy, right? ;)

Since this is a thread on humor, I thought I would offer this here. Read this... not in detail... you can safely skim through the retard's ramblings... but read for content. He went to someone with his plan to start a new stock exchange and they laughed their asses off at the fat f*ck sitting...

My guess as to why traders fail

It does look to me like Jack's methods are worthless, but his detractors are FAR more destructive to threads here than Jack is. Why do you people feel the need to quote and repost large posts bashing Jack? What do you think you are accomplishing? If you lost money trading Jack's crap...

My guess as to why traders fail

Sorry for the repost, but this needs to be said again. Here is what I posted as the third post in this thread. too many people think they are going to make it with $5k in an account trading ES futures. In my experience, the total learning curve takes between $150k - $200k and 2 years is more...

Wow. You're a real tool BoWo. Since you asked in a prior thread what it meant when people call you a tool, let me share some definitions (courtesy of www.urbandictionary.com) that people probably have in mind when they apply this word to you: 1.) A guy with a hugely over-inflated ego, who...

My guess as to why traders fail

I have to say I pretty much agree with this. 1 is much bigger than you think... too many people think they are going to make it with $5k in an account trading ES futures. In my experience, the total learning curve takes between $150k - $200k and 2 years is more or less average. I would also...

How do I trade pre-market stocks?

Sorry but I don't understand the question. Let me say this: you probably shouldn't be trading pre and post market. Having said that, some of the best opportunities come in pre and post market but it is a time that the at-home retail guy will get run over. Your best bet is probably if you...

    Not Holy but Close Grail

Be careful... the more times you slice a dataset the more chances you give it to lie to you. :) These kinds of effects are very unstable. You can actually make a better case for using shorter data histories than longer. For instance, repeat your work with 1990 - 1995, then 1995 - 2000...
