Advantages of weekly vs monthly options ?

Hello Put Master, Please tell me: 1. Do you sell naked puts or put credit spreads? 2. Do you prefer to sell on monthlys or weeklys? 3. How far out of the money you sell (or right at the money)? 4. Do you hedge them in some way in case of market crash, e.g. buying more longs than...

    Is this a neutral strangle?

I would not say that OTM strangle and ITM strangles are the same if stock does not move OTM will decay faster than deep ITM.

    What margin for this position?

Hello, Please see the screenshot attached. What would be the margin requirement in this case for backspread straddle? Red arrows mean sold 10 contracts and green arrows mean bought 20 contracts. Both short legs are in the money. $500 or $1000 margin?

    Is this a neutral strangle?

I asked if I lose this strangle because the idea was to sell OTM weekly short puts and calls. And then sell the strangle for the same amount I bought it, but I am not sure if it would be possible or not. Though I do not like this strategy because if market falls or rises quickly far behind...

    Is this a neutral strangle?

Hello, Let's say GDX is at 35, I buy a month long ITM strangle - call at 30 and put at 40. For example paying $1000 for each leg. And the legs are nearly with equal intrinsic values and delta. So can this trade stay neutral (~ $2000) up to the expiration day? Will one leg equally cover the...

IB Margin Violation Warning, because my closed positions are now open.

I read somewhere that their futures feed is not good, it is not real time or something, I do not remember, or not tick to tick. And they do not support intercommodity spreads (NOB, FYT). Does anybody trade futures with them is it good? I like their low options fees though, no alternative to...

Weekly AAPL Butterfly Ideas from Jeff Augen

But 615 short leg is in the money and cannot be bought back for a nickel. It will not lose value unless stock goes significantly below 620 and it is left few hours before market close. Richard, do you use short flies on expiration day too?

Weekly AAPL Butterfly Ideas from Jeff Augen

I cannot understand why he uses a short butterfly instead of a credit spread (see in his webinar 38th minute)? Stock at 620. 615 -1 5.0 620 +2 0.73 625 -1 0.00 credit received: 3.54 What is the point of using 625 here? Also it is not clear to me what will happen with this spread...

    Double Broken Wing Butterfly

Would be a broken wind condor a better strategy? Its debit spread can be broader than one of a butterfly. Though a bit more expensive. And what you think about selling butterflies (-1 +2 -1), the price needs to go away from strike price to profit. On volatile markets it could work probably.

Does anyone "spread" daytrade the ES vs. NQ or YM vs. NQ etc.?

I am looking at this too. Though NQ has less value than ES it runs quicker and more points than ES. So because this trade will not be considered as a spread by exchange, what margin levels will be required for ES/NQ position trade and day trade? Like separate markets or some SPAN margin will...

    Options on futures margin requirements

I would like to ask about buying option spreads on futures. In stock options when you buy a debit spread you just pay the whole amount and that's it. No margin required. What about futures options? Let's say I have a $10,000 trading account and buy, for example, calendar spread on ES for...

What cheap markets are there in IB?

Bob111, at your link: Individuals age 26 or younger - USD 3,000 (or non-USD equivalent) Also if you sign up thru their introducing broker you can start with $5000. I know only placetrade.com, but they do not have the whole range of markets IB provides. I do not see futures, forex and other...

    Looking for specific options scanner

Well I am not sure how to explain, I mean those options which can be bought and sold without problems. I am mostly interested in cheap options than expensive ones like Google, Apple. So I am trying to find those options which are not so expensive and still traded and have a good daily volume and...

    Looking for specific options scanner

Hello, I need a scanner for options which can find all currently "in the money" options (for different stocks) of definite price range, e.g. $3-$5. And to search among liquid options only. Is it available?
