I think the logic of not shorting in a dull market comes from the fact that in markets that are trending up, pull backs are usually on smaller volume and don't drop as much so you can easily find yourself getting fried on the next up tick. However there has been no volume in the up ticks today...

The writing was all on the wall that the longs weren't going to see the pop that they had hoped for. Too many bearish items lurking for it to do so as I mentioned earlier. Just be thankful it didn't crash because it certainly had the potential to do so.

Also it backed off when it rammed into resistance (50 dma) on the daily chart. We needed to see a break of that for it to continue going higher. Support is at 76. I hope for your sakes it bounces now but this is its last shot. MACD histogram on 15 min chart has also tanked meaning momentum...

I'm thinking we've pretty much hit the top today. Volume is fading and now we're starting to see some profit taking since it is very overbought right now.
