i doubt you can make 6% selling credit spreads on a $2k account! it can be done, but most B/D's wont allow it for under $100k Pete

very good point SS, systems trading is for those experienced traders who know how to be objective after years of development, or for the newbie that understands that this is where they will most likely end up (after 'discretionarily' losing money!). Pete

i think that technical indicators work well if you use them for what they are meant, and not as the "magic" tool that most inexperienced trader like to think that they are. different time frames can produce different results, even on the same indicator, so there's much to research and backtest...

most prop firms will sponsor you to take the series 7 (even though the cost is out of your pocket). get to a firm, trade small to start and learn as much as you can. Pete

Just trying to get a list of prop trading firms in the San Francisco area. Please share your thoughts on these firms - good and bad - it helps for comparisons. Names would be good, but websites or contacts would be even better! Thanks in advance.

Capital Berkeley, LLC provides automated trading systems for the SP and SP emini through monthly lease agreements. Even though using a broad range of systems has produced better results over time, an investor/trader can use as little as one system in their account.

here's the problem with percent trailing stops on longer time bars: in real-time, you can see trades executed and even see the stops hit if the market goes to the right point to fill. but...the next day when you load up your charts, the TS software can not distinguish which point came first...

i find it hard to believe that $10,000 covered the obvious intra-day drawdowns that occured during this time frame. margins alone on even 1 SP emini would not cover the difference, no matter how wide the stops. Pete

i trade 5 - 6 systems simultaneously. that doesnt mean that i am long or short 6 systems all at once, it means that i manage 6 different systems that all look for different parameters for trades. one looks exclusively for short squeeze opportunities, one works on short, 3 day swings, another...
