    Foreign Futures: 1256 Contracts?

I have done some research but have still not found a definitive answer to whether or not foreign futures (e.g, DAX, HSI, etc.) will be treated as 1256 contracts or not. Beginning with 2003 I now primarily trade only futures but in addition to ES, YM, CME currency futures and ZN, I now also...

    IB vs. Tradestation

IB, although I am considering TS as my backup broker. Although the commissions are similar they are still not the same (IB is lower); also, I like the independence of choosing a separate data/charting service (although TS looks pretty good) and I have grown very fond of TWS w/hot keys, etc...

thinking about trading Nasdaq in asian

My situation is a little different since I don't exactly trade full time but I am in Tokyo and used to just try and trade the US market part-time. I work full-time at another profession so at first this worked out fine. In the spring/summer, the US market opens at 10:30PM here and I was good...

    Nikkei 225

The contract value is calculated at JPY 1,000 times the Nikkei average. The "tick" or minimum fluctuation is JPY 10 (e.g., points) which is what you would see on a chart or in the quotes. However, the "value" of that minimum fluctuation would be 10 X 1,000 or JPY 10,000 (e.g., minimum...
