I believe that in most cases currency trades are treated like Section 1256 contracts for tax reporting purposes and the reporting is usually done on a total net profit basis (I believe they are reported on From 6871). They are also afforded special tax treatment.

To answer your last question from your original message, I frequently copy and paste a list of symbols from Excel into a quote window. Usually they are scan files that I have downloaded into Excel and then after some more filtering I copy and paste the remaining symbols into eSignal.

I use IB and trade from Japan and have no problems. Nana Trader is right; from my experience in traveling throughout Asia, there is no discernible difference in DSL from country to country. You have to worry more about what level of service you receive and pricing.
